Vinnie Sunseri is in the midst of his third season working with the Patriots and second with the running backs. Sunseri was elevated to running backs coach this season following the retirement of Ivan Fears.
Prior to joining Bill Belichick’s staff, Sunseri spent one year as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Alabama, under coach Nick Saban.
Before entering coaching, Sunseri had a brief playing career in the NFL as a safety. He played two seasons with the New Orleans Saints after being drafted in the fifth round in 2014 and spent time on the Patriots and San Francisco 49ers practice squads.
Sunseri was recently mic’d up during a Patriots practice and provided some interesting (and funny) sound bites.
