The New England Patriots hit the road for their first away game of the 2021 season while also seeking their first win of the year against a New York Jets team starting their own rookie quarterback under center.

Entering the game, the Patriots had won their last ten against the rival Jets dating back to the start of the 2016 season.

Take a look back at all the best sights and sounds shared across social media as the afternoon unfolded at MetLife Stadium below.

In the first quarter, the Patriots defense applied early pressure to Jets quarterback Zach Wilson as two interceptions led to 10 points after one.

By the start of the second quarter, it was more of the same for Zach Wilson who threw his third interception of the game and second to cornerback J.C. Jackson.

The Patriots would again capitalize on the miscue and take a 13-3 lead into halftime.

Coming out of the locker room for the second half,  Zach Wilson’s nightmare day rolled on when he threw his fourth pick to Devin McCourty.

The turnover helped set up a Damien Harris rushing touchdown that had shades of Marshawn Lynch’s memorable “beast mode” score a decade ago.

Through three quarters the Patriots found themselves in complete control leading 19-3.

Sam Darnold in the 'seeing ghosts' game:

11/32, 86 yards, 4 INTs, sack, 3.6 QB rating

Zach Wilson so far today:
4/10, 54 yards, 4 INTs, 18.3 QB rating

Bill Belichick, to @TheGregHillShow, on Mac Jones pushing Damien Harris over the goal-line: "I don't know how much help Damien needed, but again, Mac is a competitive guy and love to see his competitive spirit come out … it's really probably a good thing."

— Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss) September 20, 2021

As the third quarter wound down, kicker Nick Folk etched his name into the Patriots record books after making his 32nd straight field goal, surpassing the previous record of 31 set by Stephen Gostkowski.

Through three quarters the Patriots led 22-3.

Nick Folk has now hit 32-straight field goals, setting a new franchise record. Ironic that it comes on a 32-yarder.

In the fourth quarter both the Patriots and Jets swapped field goals to conclude the scoring as Nick Folk added to his record.

33 Nick Folk
31 Stephen Gostkowski
25 Adam Vinatieri
23 Adam Vinatieri
21 Stephen Gostkowski

The Patriots would go on to win their first game of the season by a final score of 25-6 while handing Mac Jones his first career victory.

Next week the Patriots will return home to take Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at 1 pm EST.
