The Kansas City Star is reporting that Welbourn, who retired last summer, will join the Chiefs next week.

Welbourn started 12 games at right tackle last season after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's steroid policy.

Welbourn, 30, was suspended six weeks for violating the league's drug policy before announcing his retirement in the summer. That suspension will be up after Sunday's game against San Diego.
What am I missing? He can just unretire after 6 weeks and not face the suspension? Didn't Ricky Williams still have to sit out his games after he unretired to Miami? Is that because Ricky was retired for a full year?

Good news for Pats fans, because it makes the Chiefs more competitive against both the Chargers and Broncos, 2 teams we are competing with for a playoff bye.

That's criminal. Goodell can't stand by and let players abuse the retirement process like that. If this is allowed, why couldn't Odell Thomas and Koren Robinson have done the same thing?
