Curran Knows Something

We all know that Curran and Mayo are close personally.

Curran has been pining for a trade down for months.

Over the past two days he started to change his tune…pumping up Drake Maye and his toughness. Then today, he just released his new podcast episode and said “I’ve heard it would take a lot MORE than 3 first round picks for them to consider trading down because of how they see the top quarterbacks ”.

What does it all mean? Could be nothing. Personally, I think Curran got a wink wink from Mayo, “don’t overthink it, we’re taking Drake Maye”.

FWIW
Or it could be a case of Mayo telling Curran "Put out the word out we're taking Maye" either to spur another team that loves Maye to offer us a King's Ransom for our pick, or to get a team to not trade ahead of us for the guy we really want. Or, as you say, it could be a case of the most obvious answer being the right one. Mayo's press strategy has been pretty clumsy and naive so far. But I think it's a bad idea to take anyone's inside source at face value this time of year.

just wait until Curran is the mayo guardian at the gate when the Pats are 2-8 heading into Thanksgiving

You’re right. Maye is a legit first round talent. Williams has the hallmark of a bust and Jaden Daniels will end up being a backup.
I watched some film and Maye's arm reminds me a bit of Marino: big time velocity and quick, effortless release. The ball is out so quickly, but on a rope.

Yeah, I think they'll pick him too. Williams will be a bust and Daniels, a solid backup. I'd rather take a flyer on McCarthy than Daniels. McCarthy is young enough to sit for a season (or two) as the Patriots get better around him.
So mad about the late season wins against Pitt and Denver

This reminds me of the 2007 season opener at the Jete. A buddy and I made the trek and had second-row seats in the north end zone. New England had the ball at midfield, Brady dropped back and just heaved a ball that looked like it was coming straight at us. I didn't see a receiver in the area and thought, "WTF, where is he throwing this?" Suddenly Randy Moss zooms under it with three Jete defenders trailing him, snags it and scores. His speed was so deceptive because it appeared effortless. On the way out afterward a Jete fan walking past said to me, "Enjoy the Super Bowl."

Lol, you're giving Upstutter1 competition for the biggest BSer on the forum.

7:08, Brady about to release the pass.

7:06, ball in the air around 25 YL. Moss surrounded by 3 players around 12 YL. Safety has <1 yd separation from Moss. There's 4 guys there about 13 yards downfield from the ball.

7:05, ball still in the air, Moss still w/ <1 yd separation from DB, but now around 5 YL.

7:04, Moss already caught the pass and is now at 3 YL.

Like I've been saying, you just love to spout hyperbolic BS, not sure why. We're not impressed dude. Check it out for yourselves at the 8:37 mark of the video.

Yes, Wolfe would be fired after THREE years of failure. You make it sound as if they have only two years if they trade down. If their QB doesn't work out after trading down, they would be forced to sign or trade for a top QB.
And that's why it's 3 years. Next years top FA QB who could actually be available is.... Dak Prescott... who cant even win with a loaded team in a warm climate.

Who's trading their top QB away? Nobody.

The Mac Jones pick ultimately set us back 3 years.

This time they're going for a guy who can carry the team on his back...

Fella, you're going off the deep end with so much time and effort devoted to these "gotcha" fails. Is your ass chapped THAT bad?

What those stills (and the linked video) show are sideline views of what I described from the vantage point of where we sat -- low end zone, close to field level. It wasn't apparent from our angle when Brady released the ball that anyone would be open. The ball's trajectory was right at us. Then Moss flies in seemingly out of nowhere, snags the pass and scores with three defenders chasing. It's just as I recalled. Pretty good memory for 17 years later.

I appreciate this opportunity to relive the moment but kid, you have issues. Get some help.

If Maye is off the board, I bet the Pats take McCarthy. Daniels is going to slip. His age and body of work -- one elite season in which he was older than most players on the field -- are going to cause him to drop.

I can't imagine Chicago taking anyone but Williams.

It sure look like Brian Kelly spilled the beans regarding Washington's plan to take Daniels.

#3 is where the fun begins, but it sure seems to me like Maye will be the pick.

Don’t torture yourself he’s going to Was thanks Ryland.

Professional athletes play to win.

If the Pats don’t like what’s there at 3, or if they think that the other 4/5 QBs are comparable, poor us will either get a haul trade down or one of the best WR or OT prospects to come along in a long time.

There’s no “lose” here unless whatever the pick is busts, and that is always a possibility.

I just did a mock and got MHJ, Penix Jr, and TE Sanders or Sinnot without moving.

Would that really be a bad thing?

Do we take Kelly as knowing?

Nice try, but that's not what the video shows. Moss didn't come out of nowhere. He was already well downfield even after the ball had been released. He had 3 guys right with him, so it's laughable how you didn't notice 4 football players running towards you (per your story), in the direction the ball was thrown. The entire thing took under 4 seconds. The only possible explanation, if we're to believe any of this, is that you were **** faced.

Eddie Andelman used to have a bit on Sports Huddle where he'd record himself before a season predicting every team would win. He'd then play the correct one back after the season was over. Curran's tactic is similar.

Hi howaya!
