I don't know how fast Reid will retire. He basically waited his whole career to get a guy like Mahomes and now he has him. He's probably having the time of his life winning on easy mode right now and building up his legacy. If he starts showing slippage maybe, but if I'm him, I'm riding this thing until the wheels fall off.
Supposedly he was close last offseason and I read Mahomes had to convince him to come back. And there have been rumors again that he's considering walking away. He's not like Bill - he's certainly not the pillar of health and he's in poor shape. There might be something else we don't know that could have him considering walking away.

With three rings, I think he'd be OK with that. He's a great coach and has nothing else to prove.

This is 1000% correct. I think Shanahan really blew it tonight. I do not think he is arrogant or an imbecile, but now he has:
1. Lost to the pats as OC when up by 25 points
2. Lost twice to the Chiefs in SB when winning in the fourth quarter
Agreed. Guy has no clock management skills what so ever. It’s science/math, each time you run you can take 40 seconds off the clock.

Purdy made some big time throws in key moments but he did not make enough of them.

You saw what McCaffrey can do when he get’s his hands on the ball like he did in overtime. He didn’t get the ball enough.

They are no shoe-in if Kelce retires ...

He's not going to retire but also he was horrendous all season and only showed up in the playoffs. Tonight was way closer to how he was during the regular season very mediocre.

And yet they still ran the gauntlet

Who cares he won and is rare air as far as a Super Bowl winning coach.

Who cares if they won. They're not doing anything unprecedented so I'm not really all that impressed. The niners gave them two free super bowls I wish the Patriots had come across some incompetent teams like that.

I do agree that Shanahan kind of blew it tonight
but Mahomes is already up there with the all time greats. He is poised clutch and a great great leader.
Those are the facts. Even though we all wish Brady could stand alone on the pedestal as GOAT.... you can see it clearly. Mahomes is right up there with him and has a great chance to surpass him.
He is mentally and physically tough as nails.

If that's the last KC championship then I don't care.

Unfortunately I think they're basically a shoe-in for another.
I mean the Pats won in 04 and didn't again until 14. But, they still made the SB and title game consistently.

The only way I see them falling off is if the Chargers somehow become a juggernaut with Harbaugh. Or, Buffalo hires a better HC etc.

It would be crazy if Reid retired and Bill took over in 2025. But would they hire a 73 year old? That Belichick rumor can't be real.

You sound jealous

49ers special team messed up there with the fumble. Also they needed to defer. Horrible coaching all the way.

With that said. Mahomes is the best. Guy just makes plays after plays. He just finds ways.

On to the draft bois. Let’s hope we draft someone that can make the pats good again.

You keep telling yourself you're the Patriots but you're not. There's zero chance at my homes is going to play into his 40s.

so Foles > Brady? no, OFFENSE, more than defense, wins super bowls
No, of course not; variance exists, especially in sudden-death sports like football where 7-game series don’t exist.

But there is a reason that over 50% of Super Bowls since 2000 have been won by Brady, Mahommes, Manning, or Rodgers- the four of which you can argue are Top 5 QBs of all-time.

Quarterbacks are the ONLY things that matter.

The great quarterback always takes over in the 4th quarter, how many times did we see it with Brady.

It's the same thing happening again, they weren't going to stop him moving the ball as soon as the game came down to the clutch moments.

If you don't get a quarterback you're dead, it doesn't matter how many all pros you draft on the OL and DL, "build the team" is a great philosophy if you want to get to the AFCCG or Super Bowl and lose to the team with the better quarterback.
Eli was a great QB?

hasnt proved it physically. he has to have longevity to beat brady.

Mahomes running for the tough yards when the team really needed them was impressive. I think the niners defense was really gassed at then. The injury to Greenlaw also really hurt the niners D

Do you honestly think I'm jealous? What a weird thing to say.
Yes you seem very upset that the Chiefs won and that they are getting praised and are very intent on minimizing what they did.

You may not be receptive to it, but you, and a few others, sound exactly like the people who used to get upset over the Patriots when they were winning back in the day.

The Chiefs winning or not winning doesn't effect me because it has nothing to do with the Patriots ability to win or not. So I simply don't care and can just appreciate it for what it is.
