DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread: Day 3

Can never have too many quarterbacks. We didn’t need Tom Brady when he was drafted
I remember not liking the Brady pick.

I felt it was a waste with three other QBs ahead of him.

You never know.

So happy we got Bailey Zappe! I also had him in a few of my mocks as a perfect replacement for Hoyer. Let's get Stidham off this roster. He's a good quarterback. If we didn't already have Jones, I could see him developing into a starter. I do not expect to retain him past his rookie contract. He will get starts around the league at some point in his career.

Overall, a very solid 4th round, although I'm sad to see some binkies go. I still want to see a NT and OT, but good start to the day.
I expect Hoyer to be gone first. Stid will be gone next year no matter what. Zappe may be #2 QB from the git go. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him get most of the preseason playing time. Good insurance in case Mac needs some time off during the season. And maybe enough of a threat to keep pushing Mac a little. I just wish he were a few inches taller, although he can totally hide behind Brown he’ll be throwing out of a well a lot.

Guess we are bringing Kyle Van Noy back?

There's an interesting crop of guys already on the roster that could really pop this year:

Perkins, Uche, McGrone, McMillan, Wilson, and Jennings. They won't all pop, but if just a couple of them do, that's a massive improvement at LB. Perkins, McGrone, and McMillan essentially redshirted last year. Jennings kind of as well.

Well....

Zappe threw for 62 touchdowns and 5,967 yards this past season for Western Kentucky.
Yes Western Kentucky…..not sure why we chose a guy who will be holding clipboard over LB DE or even another WR prospect……or if you are going to go QB why not Sam Howell!?

5'11" isn't too bad.

5'11" is like the average for an NFL CB, but for some reason a lot of our fans seem to think every player on the field needs to be 6'6"

Darrell Revis and a slew of other all time great CBs were 5'10"-6".. an inch doesnt make any difference at all

And Baltimore absolutely killing this ****ing draft. Very impressive
I get it. But yet none of those players have ever played a down in the nfl. So who knows.

but but McVay had Zappa rated as a sixth rounder. CBS B+
I think BB has been behind the curve all draft…..Strange wayyyy too early…..Thornton too early from all analysts…..oh well in BB we trust right!?

Steelers just took Austin. Is going to be a stud. Just watch.
They always have some of the best Draft minds ….got to give them credit…..our draft has everyone shaking their heads….
