PatsFans has never been more divided. It’s time to heal!

AndyJohnson>>>Ring6
This isn't even close. Andy, for as gods awful as he was. Was at least a character in this crazy video game/forum. His superpowers were that despite not making a point he could take a trivial debate 146 pages deep. He definitely had durability as a strength too. Ring6 is like the genetic brand of fruity pebbles.

why should anyone have to ignore a thread just because you want it in the main forum?

and me trying to force others to do what I want them to do? How so? By wanting them to click one extra link? That's a big stretch there slick... seriously, whats the point of having a Brady forum if you don't use it for, i dunno, BRADY threads?
Wait, there's a Brady forum?

We are at a precarious point in PatsFans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard history. Our supreme ruler, Ian, logs in every single day to a board that has never in its history been more divided. PatsFans is confronting a once-in-a-generation power struggle between Team Bill and Team Tom. Deep discontent over Bill Belichick letting Tom Brady test free agency and, eventually, leave for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has reached a fevered pitch with 30% of respondents polled saying that it was Brady’s time to go. Another 20% state that Brady chose to leave. On the other hand, 50% of respondents say that Bill could have done more earlier to keep the greatest quarterback of all time here and happy. These are, indeed, dark days. Sorrow has turned into ugliness as threads burn in one sub-forum after another. But, as former Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Dent once famously said, the night is always darkest just before the dawn.

PatsFans, I am here to tell you that we are stronger TOGETHER. I believe that this once great message board will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes. While I, myself, am Team Brady, I aim to work hard for everyone. And though the attacks on my credibility from Team Bill have left me scarred and deformed, my resolve has never been stronger! In that spirit, I am declaring today, February 10, 2021 “PatsFans.com Day.” A national holiday. With that in mind, I have also implemented a few Top Poster Executive Orders. The following is now signed into law here...

1. You must add one compliment to every post you respond to. This could include a compliment on the posters looks, prose, or overall opinion. If you think the poster you’re responding to has a girth-y penis, let him know!

2. Personal attacks are now outlawed. I am the only exception.

3. You are no longer allowed to click the “Disagree” rating without explaining yourself. Those who violate this will be brutally violated and murdered on sight.

4. The “Passing the Tourch” and “I don’t care... I can’t stand it!” threads will be retrieved from the archives and unlocked for further discussion.

5. Mosslost will have his ban rescinded.

6. Debates that Ring 6 takes part in will be capped at two pages.

7. fnordcircle will be banned effective immediately. I will also find a way to liquidate every asset he owns in real life. He’s done.

8. Members who own gas guzzler vehicles will have those vehicles seized and they will be replaced with gigantic electric vibrating bildos on wheels. I am working with a team of Bills fans on the design and we anticipate production ramping up before the end of the calendar year. You will not be given a rebate on your existing vehicle.

I will advise as more executive orders are passed. In the meantime, as we all saw last month, a poem has the power to heal a nation and erase all wounds. Unless I am sitting on a filthy toilet in a public bathroom with a Sharpie, however, I am no poet. But I can, and will, give a speech to conclude the thread and kick off the holiday. Like Ron Borges, I have written this material myself without any assistance from anyone. I hope everyone will be inspired by this speech and call out of work immediately following it to celebrate the holiday properly.

Good morning. In less than an hour Patriots fans from here will join others from around the world, and you will be launching the largest Kumbaya moment in the history of Pats Nation.

“Pats Nation.” That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can’t be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it’s fate that today is the 10th of February and you will once again be fighting for our freedom not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution... but from annihilation.

We’re fighting for our right to live, to exist. And should we come together today, the 10th of February will no longer be known as a PatsFans.com holiday, but as the day when Pats Nation declared loudly in one voice, “We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish... without a fight! We’re going to live on. We’re going to survive. Today we celebrate our PatsFans.com Day!”

Compliment: You sir, are doing well with the recent sleep deprivation.

I feel like this thread is somewhat sarcastic.

I have no problem with folks who continue to root for TB12 and watch Bucs games. The dude was part of our fandom for two decades. I’m not scuttling him to the side because he wears different laundry. We’re witnessing one of the great careers in sports.

I bet plenty of Colts fans followed Peyton, Bulls fans watching Jordan in DC etc. It’s sad that we have people here who try to dictate how someone should be a fan. Who the hell are you? That said I want the Pats to beat the brakes off the Bucs next year. Go Pats!

It's one thing to root for Tom and the Bucs - which I did and there is nothing wrong with it.

Brady will have been gone a year next month.

It's another to say they are no longer a fan of the NEP and but still ***** and moan every waking minute about it.

Carl Yastrzemski (23 seasons), Ray Bourque (20.5 seasons) , and technically Ted Williams (19 seasons, but went off to WW2 for 3 seasons) are the only Boston professional athletes that played in Boston longer than Tom Brady (20 seasons).

And if you were to name four "Boston Rushmore" athletes...you would have to go with: Williams, Orr, Russell, and Brady.

No shame in rooting for Tom Brady of all people.....I'd even argue that he's the exception to the rule.

And 100%....we taking him down in Foxboro next year, baby!!!

I think we should go the other way. Full division into separate camps. Team Bill vs Team Brady. Mark your avatars with your allegiance! All out PatsFans war until the determination has been made!
It could be like the Brady/Bledsoe War of 2001-2003.

I’ll heal when the hegemony is in the streets. I say we storm Ian’s castle and demand moderator powers for all!

I can make a case for three of those Boston Rushmore athletes to be locks for the National Rushmore. If not for an injury shortened career I'd go for four with Orr. We've been blessed.

I'm on Team Pat Patriot.

And I've never rejected all you KraftFan, bandwagon, fakePatsfan, Bledsoe-loving posers who did not know or care anything about the team prior to 1993 or if you did you hated it and certainly did not support it.

You're plastered all over local TV and you follow Kraft like he's the Pied Piper

...as he promotes the flying elvis all over everywhere including on his plane, and gives away ugly blue jerseys to anyone within reach.
Pat Patriot's someone worth fighting for. I still get tearful when I recall the time his decal fell off my stocking hat while I was shoveling snow many years ago.

Orr is and always will be a lock. He played ten seasons - one more than Jim Brown, the greatest running back ever.

Bobby's career plus/minus is 582. This ranks second all time.

Take a look at the others in the top five:

1. Larry Robinson____722______GP: 1,384
3. Ray Bourque______527______GP: 1,612
4. Wayne Gretzky____520______GP: 1,487
5. Bobby Clarke______507______GP: 1,144

Bobby played in 657 games. That's 487 fewer games than the next fewest guy above, Clarke.

Robinson's +/- is 140 higher than Orr. But he played in more than twice as many games.

Nothing against Howe or Gretzky, or Richard or Shore. Bobby is #1.

Okay, four for four it is then. The funny thing is, if we wanted to add a pitcher, Pedro Martinez is a lock too.

Johnny Bucyk (21 seasons). Hail to the Chief!

Dwight Evans (19 seasons). Dewey should be in Cooperstown.

Julius Adams (16 seasons). The Jewel belongs in the Pats' HOF.
