Jules wants out?

If we trade Edelman would that make the Patriots WR/TE grouping officially the worst in league history?
groupings are measured during the season, not in March

You can't have it both ways. Either teams "fix" holes with signings, as you have previously asserted, or we don't have such discussions until sometime during the season.

It seems likely that we'll end up trading the oft injured Edelman to TB. He clearly isn't part of the patriot future. I suspect a 3rd would be about right.

Take off Edelman you have

Sanu - Coming off a bottom 25 WR season in the last 30 years according to Yards/tgt, min 20 catches
Harry - Same as above, except couldn't even get 20 catches. Took to use him in running plays to get him involved.
Meyers - Better stats, untrained "eye-test" looked better, but benched for the 2 above for some reason

Tight ends - Who do we even have, players sucked so bad/got hurt can't even think of them. Last year this was a bottom 5 group.

So certainly going into the season this has to be the worst grouping in the NFL.

I think I like Edelman more than I like Brady and that's a whole lot.

Would suck to see him go.

How would you have rated our WR grouping last season?

It has been reported that part of TB's TB choice was that they wd give him some input into personnel decisions... Trade him after June 1 to TB and get a 7 million cap relief and, if fortunate, a 3rd round pick in '21.

You are right. They trade JE after June 1 they save $7m in 2020.

I still don't like it but if isn't on-board with the program....

If Sanu can get a 2nd because he was under contract for multiple years at cheap money, so should Jules....... (2 years left on his deal)

The Pats were desperate to get a WR on the team and got screwed paying a 2nd round pick for Sanu.

Tampa doesnt need Edelman, but Edelman needs Tampa.

I wouldn’t give a third rounder for Edelman never mind a second.

look at Welker. All world here... not really in Denver

May as well trade him.

The back and forth Brady man love on instagram will be sickening otherwise.

Godwin is 24 and already a better player than JE. Not happening.

Why do people keep taking this suggestion seriously? Exactly 0 people in this thread legitimately believe that trade could happen. We're literally all joking.

Except maybe Chris...

34 years old in May.

Injuries have effected JE the last 2 seasons. Hard to fathom that JE wont get dinged up at some point the older he gets.

I would trade him and Cannon for a 2nd and 3rd next year and a 5th this year.
