I'm Finally Convinced: This is Brady's Last Year in New England

We all knew the end of the Brady era would come some day. It may come at the end of this season and maybe it won't. I think that we should all sit back relax and let it all play out. We have no voice in the decision. The decision will be made by BB and Brady.

Can someone please take 2 minutes of their time and please explain to me what makes people think this is Brady's last year? And please don't tell me it's because he's house hunting in Greenwich. He also has a penthouse in Manhattan, that doesn't make him the next Jets/Giants QB.

I need some real, valid reasoning as to why people think he won't be with NE next year.

TIA

"I don't consider anything said so far as valid, anyone else wanna try explaining this to me?"

He does not have a contract next year with the team

He is 42 years old going on 43

He is in statistical decline.

The team has Stidham under contract next year

I say this as having no clue if he wants to leave but if you want facts, here they are.

Melvin Gordon or Sony?

Austin Ekler or James White?

Keenan Allen or Edelman?

Mike Williams or Sanu?

Hunter Henry or Lacosse?

Brady would be back putting up TDs and passing yards in no time. The Chargers RBs are a threat that defenses gameplan for. What defense gameplans to stop Sony Michel? Allen, Williams and Henry get open. Plus, the Chargers will draft again likely in the top 15 and they have shown the ability to identify WRs,TEs and RBs who dont suck.

Why would Brady come back to the clown show drafting in NE? Phillip Dropsett has been in NE 3 years and does not have enough sense to look back at Brady when the blitz is on.
True. The chargers are the real champs here over the years.Just a QB is holding them back from a SB. Amazing ownership, great coaches too. BB and Kraft suck in comparison.

He said he sees himself playing until 45

Who says he's on a statistical decline? It's the cast around him (O-line, receivers, no real TE) are are on the decline.

So what if Stidham is under contract? Did we not have backup QBs that were under contract at some point in time?

According to Brady Sr., his son wants to play in NE. The decision is up to BB.

Again, nothing here that scream Brady is done in NE. They could offer him a new contract tomorrow for all we know. Both BB and Brady know they need each other in order to continue winning. Neither one on his own will be half as successful. The closest thing we had to this formula was Jimmy G, and he's gone.

You are arguing against facts with speculation and conversations.

The original question was why do fans think Tom might not be back in NE next year.

I stated facts that those fans would point to as potential reasons.

Great, other than Brady being older, I don't see anything unusual that screams he's done in NE.

Stats?

You really want to blame Newhouse, the rest of that pathetic O-line, no Gronk, 2 rookie receivers, and an overpaid Sanu - all on Brady? You kidding me?

I am fully preparing myself for this being the last year. It's still going to take a few months but ill get there because the writing is there

Statistical decline literally means just looking at the stats. On a side note, I would argue that a 2007-2017 Brady would have this offense looking respectable.

Statistics and production are typically brought up during contract negotiations as they are used as overall leverage, market-setting and determining incentives.

If Tom/Team have a disagreement on the root cause for the degradation in statistical performance that could lead to an impasse in negotiations which in turn could open the door for retirement or changing teams.

That is why they matter.

Brady didnt decline since this jan 21st at arrowhead just because of the age ticking over to 42 . The throws that he made in that game, he can still make them. Give him the same oline.

Yea a 2015 Brady would, remember how bad our o line was and Brady would zip the ball out like fine wine despite getting killed at times, well obviously he was 38 compared to 42 now but still.

After 20 years with this organization, you could argue both parties are on the same page. Otherwise Brady would have left for another team long time ago, as personnel issues are nothing new with this team. Almost every year it seems they run into some snag roster wise.

Brady has never faced being a FA. In addition as part of this latest pay bump Brady insisted on having the franchise tag removed.

The man desires control over his destiny.

The ol 6 rings card anytime someone points out the truth about the subpar NE RBs and WRs.

How do you know that Brady would not have won a Super Bowl with the Chargers? You dont. All you have is well we got 6 rings and they have none as if the NE drafts really didnt suck after all because Brady saved the day.

I don't remember Belichick coaching the Chargers. Those two have been the perfect storm of greatness.
