Cautiously optimistic. If they can play lights out against the Eagles in a few weeks I'll be elated...

The ironic part is that Brady's stats are on pace to be one of his top 4 or 5 best stat seasons. That should tell you a lot about stats other than wins

There should little panic. We are 6-0, and seem likely to go 12-4 without major improvements (we still have 3 more games against bottom feeders). That isn't terrible.

It's 2007 all over again, except the historically elite unit is on the other side of the ball. At least through 6 games.

I'm still in awe that while we nitpick problems on offense, at the end of the day we're not spending a lot of time looking at the FORTY-TWO year old QB as a huge source of concern. If you told me in 2005...and 3 titles in...that in 14 years we'd be rooting for Brady to lead the team to back-to-back titles and four in six years, I'd call you insane.

I really do believe that Pats fans all have amnesia. We go through this every year. Most years it is about the D but this year it is about the O. Fine. The Pats will still do their thing and end up in the AFCCG. You can count on it. Like water being wet. Snow being cold.

Let the D have TWO bad days. 14-2 and first seed.

I think the O will be a season-long project like it was last year. In 2018, they had games where the only RB they dressed was a WR. Then went to the playoffs with JE, PDII and Chick-fil-a Hogan, plus half a Gronk and did pretty well. I think they can do better this year.

6-0, how do we feel?

Better than Chiefs fans.
Better than Steelers fans.
Better than Rams fans.

Better than...you get the point.

What we know so far:

• Defense is not only exceptional but extremely deep. Michael Bennett is unable to get substantial playing time due to the players in front of him. Linebackers are insanely good.
• Offense - work in progress. Certainly their worst unit since end of year 2015. But while it is bad by Patriots standards it is still likely top 8 or so in the league (there are a ton of bad offenses) Question is will they be able to mount the needed drive when the chips are down.
• Injuries - seem to be focused on offense this year for some reason. Another injury or two and this could get ugly. If Wynn/Harry or Devlin come back healthy that would be a huge boost.
• Schedule - the number of bad teams they have faced early in the year has been unprecedented. Gets much more challenging soon and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do. Pats have never shied away from a challenge.
• Hard to find a team right now outside of KC that should seriously challenge the Pats for the AFC Championship - we'll see if that changes as we move forward.
