Getting old SUCKS

I'm 70 now, a Patriots fan since 1960. I remember my Dad coming home with the Boston Daily Record newspaper and telling me "We are going to have our own football team"...! He was excited, and I caught that fever right away.

I was an old New York Giants fan when Modzelewski, Robustelli, Grier, and Katcavage made up a defensive wall that few teams penetrated. But following the Patriots first draft in which they selected Ron Burton, I quickly became a convert, and have remained so ever since.

Now in the autumn of my life, it gives me such great pleasure to witness the making of a stout defense that may literally carry the Patriots to another Super Bowl much the way Brady and the offense has carried the load to previous SB's.

This geezer's not hiding... 58...

...knocking on the door to 59 in December. ;)

I'll open it up for you, then I leave in Jan for BIG 6-OH!

Gonna be 57 on Oct 5th. But that 57 number is just a number, I still think kinda young. Still play videogames (have a Nintendo Switch and an Xbox One), still get excited when I get new Patriot's gear. Still get gifts like a 15 year old for birthdays and Christmas (video games, electronics, music, etc).

Last year got Patriot's sweats and socks for Christmas, every game I wore them, the Pats won (you're welcome !).

So do I feel 57 years old sometimes ? Yeah, but most of the time, when someone asks me my age, I have to think, because the number 30 comes up when I think about it. Then I realize, oh ****, I'm gonna be 57.

Do you think your reaction time in certain games has diminished? I'm really hoping you say no...

Honestly, I haven't notices any differences. But truth be told, I was never really GREAT at video games, I just really enjoy them.

Sweet, so I don't need to vary my retirement plans (play videogames all day).

Both of our sons are in their late 30's and don't understand why I like it here. One of them loves sports and one of them doesn't but they agree that they don't like message boards of any kind.

message boards feel like sitting around the family dinner table and exchanging stories, jokes, etc. Twitter, Instagram, and BB's favorite SnapFace are more like tag, your IT

It does, I could take down some local tournaments for cash prizes in my teens and early 20's. It wasn't really my reaction time that diminished, it was more my speed/accuracy with the mouse. Now I get owned a lot by 15 year olds who have apparently boinked my mother

57 is the new 30.

Turned 32 in August. I remember watching SB36 in the house I grew up in and that seems like a lifetime ago. I remember going to school (high school) and talking about Patriots games and how Brady played and calls Belichick made. Now I am married with a house, expecting my first kid and I go into work talking about how Brady played and calls Belichick made. Really is crazy to think about.

I love this fact. For me it's a bit different. When the Pats won their first I had no children. Now I have teenage kids and have watched the last four Super Bowls with them. Unbelievable. It's a lifelong gift.
