My Son Covered Him When He Was Doing Sports Anchor In Chicago And Said If healthy he has a Big Upside.

That's just too cool to be able to say "my son covered him". Congrats.

Good signing. I think he'll actually make the final 53 and be a solid contributor. This probably signals that DT is on the outs.

Like the signing. Seems to have good routes and he’s had a few really good games over the years. Rehab him him and see what he can do.

lol at 4.49 not being fast. It’s extremely fast for a good athlete. Just not elite take the top off. I’d guess less than half the players that run in the 4.3s can play elite football.

Our boy Josh can

Thanx Tony, My Son covered Fox Sports Chicago TV when Cubs won WS & Bears also. He's now back in Miami freelancing covering Marlins & Dolphins Sooo he better hook his old man up when Pats go back to Miami In Feb. for SB But that might hard since he's been a Bills Fan since Jim Kelly days lol.

Why do you believe that? Both of them are on the PUP.

I have not read it in reports but I would not be surprised if the expectations based on where both were drafted (or not) in addition to which of the DBs they are facing during their reps makes it feel like Meyers is outplaying Harry.

There's doubtless some of that, but the main thing to me is that Meyers has been lining up with the first team.

Because every signing gets people thinking it signals something when it doesn’t.
What it signals is Belichick thinks Meredith is a quality player who could help him if needed. Signing him has absolutely nothing to do with what other players are in the roster at his position. Because we are at a 90 man roster and he is certainly more likely to play in a game for the New England patriots than the previous 90th guy and especially in this case because we have no clue what receivers will be healthy or injured by the time he is ready.

The more I think about it ... he's mid season insurance ... good signing.
He's already way behind ... no need to rush it.

Gordon fans need to prepare for the worst. :(
Prior to last year’s shortened season, he had played in 5/48 games. I think it’s safe to say that we’re all prepared for the worst. That said, it would’ve been stupid not to tender him.

Edit: to clarify, 5/48 past games

Look, if he can be covered by a television Anchorman, then he's not going to make it against actual NFL DBs.

Just so I understand I assume that by putting him on PUP it gives BB the max amount of time to see if he can get healthy ? I would then expect there is a time limit when he would be retained or let go.

They can place him on PUP because he hasn’t practiced yet this year. They have the option to keep him on PUP through the end of week 6, and then would have 3 more weeks to decide in practice whether or not he looks like he can come back. Basically, they wouldn’t have to add him to the 53 man roster until about halfway through the season, if that’s what they wanted to do.

He’s able to come off PUP at any point during training camp, but once he’s taken off, he cannot go back on. He would have to be placed on IR if he’s taken off and still can’t go.

While on PUP, He’s able to train and take part in meetings, but unable to practice on the field.

Oh I agree and also am excited about it. Claimed him (or did he claim me ?) as a binkie right post draft after reading up on him and watching some of his videos.

Your post just initially read a bit like you were disappointed with Harry based on reports which I think without knowing the context would be premature.

I've met Him Kelly.

Great guy. Built liked a LB. I always wished that the he would have won a ring.

Thanks for the explanation....He certainly has some potential...despite the positives of playing in the NFL it's sad to see young players get potential career ending injuries (not saying this is the case with merideth).........Is this a similar circumstance to Malcolm Mitchell ?

I have a liking for the Bears, I remember that in 2016 I was seeing a game and Meredith was really grasping my attention. Later that year i would go on thinking he could become a real good player (and that he could eventually replace Edelman lol)

Im all for the signing, if he can come close to 100%, i think he could be our 2nd best slot

Ah, gotcha! No, I didn't mean to toss Harry to the curb. By all accounts he's progressing fine and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him. It just seemed like a telling illustration of the unpredictability of matching WRs to this offense--one of the supposedly rawest receivers in the draft clicking in faster than the one lauded as a ready "student of the game" type.
