The same recovery timeline as 2011 would have him cleared to practice on July 18 and playing in week 1. That might be overly optimistic given that he’s 8 years older now, but anything close to that would be far from the doom and gloom that some people are assuming right now.

That's not how it works around here.

The Pats do this every off season..and every time they do "it sucks!!!!"...newsflash..they'll sign more bodies at WR and probably draft a few also...relax all you "knowers of things".

If he replicates his 2018 #s, 59-677-5 tds tthe signing is a whopping success...given who's on the wr depth chart now, he should eclipse those #s by week 12 if healthy and he "gets" the playbook...fingers crossed

Thomas will still be able to study the playbook, and it's a playbook that he's seen in the past, at least to the extent of having had McDaniels as his head coach.

Watching Thomas is like watching Manning at the end of his career, he’s done. He can’t get separation and Brady hates throwing to receivers who are covered. I’m fine with brining anyone in but if they are counting on him it’s another story. Slow and as soft as they get.
