Martellus is one of those guys.. where you wonder why he had such a hard time fitting in everywhere he went except the pats. He seems like such a smart, funny, motivated guy.

I Love Bennett, one of the most entertaining guys we've had here.

Don't disagree at all, but 29 and 31 aren't too old given what old can be.

Id imagine this makes Allen expendable unless he takes a major discount.

I don't know, I've come around on Allen as a great blocker, almost an extra lineman out there, with the ability to catch an occasional pass. The Pats really value that kind of guy.

Yeah, maybe he has to take some kind of pay cut, but I think the Pats would prefer to keep him no matter what happens with Gronk and Bennett.

Cutting Allen loose over this doesn't make much sense. You know what you have in Allen. You don't know what you have in Bennett.

Probably not. I could see them bring Marty in on a low-commitment contract though, and see if he earn a spot over Allen, or to fill out the roster so you don't have to reach for a TE in the draft if nobody you love falls to where they pick. But as a guy you're counting on? I don't see it.

Bennett even when hurt was no slouch at Blocking and he gives you a target in the passing game. When Allen is in there you know what's coming.

Wish we had Marty for two years even that year when we lost Gronk and won the SB. Marty picked up the slack he played on bad wheels all year the man is Tough!

This looks like Bennett just making fun of Witten coming back. Marty is not un-retiring and it also means nothing in terms of Gronk.

I get that some people might confused but if you look at it through the prism of Witten the whole thing just looks like a joke. The thing that Marty has been known for.

at least the Pats still own his rights (I think) yeah they claimed him, so he had time left on that contract, so yeah the Pats own his rights.
