Ameer Abdullah?

I’d rather have Barner, a guy fighting to have a job in the NFL than Abdullah, a guy trying as hard as he can to piss away a career.

Not aware of any off the field issues for ameer, by all accounts has come into to work every day not pouting about lack of PT (even helping fellow rb and rook Kerryon Johnson). He does have issues with fumbling and past injuries have stalled his career, but I’m not one to characterize that as trying hard to piss a career away.

This hurts as he’s a former husker but unfortunately he’s been a bust. Part of it due to injuries/taking care of the football; part of it was also getting drafted by the lions. Ever since Barry retired they have been to rbs what the jets are to QBs.

We know our Buddy Brittle Rex can't stay healthy so its nice to know a guy like that is out there.

Playing yourself out of the league doesn’t only happen because of a negative persona.

I understand that, was just questioning the words used “pissing his career away.” Makes it sound like he’s going down a path similar to Randy Gregory, Aldon Smith for example.

Abdullah the Butcher comes to mind.

Nope, going down the same path as guys who don’t do what it takes to earn the job they have plenty of talent to.

Abdullah just never developed into NFL talent. It sucks, but it happens quite a lot where someone looks good in college but those skills just don’t translate into a professional career.

I’m good with Barner. That said, I personally don’t have much hope that Burkhead will return, either.

Seemed really good coming out of college. However as mentioned the guy just doesn’t seem to get any better. He’s had several coaches to try and prove himself and just hasn’t. He isn’t no Gordon or Patterson where atleast they flashed superstar style plays on bad teams and could sell tickets to see what they are going to do next.

Bad hands, fumble problems and a knack to not follow blockers or run in between the tackles. No thanks

Zach Zenner back in the mix.
That is why Ameer had to be Ambered.
Lions bring Zach Zenner back

So we now officially cover everything from Ameer to Zenner. I remember some guy named Abdullah on whom we can't claim any expertise by that description, but it's otherwise pretty darned impressive.

Seems the OP is onto something after all  ;)
