2-0 England. Great movement from Lingard who is shoved over in the box. Harry Kane nearly rips the back of the net with the resultant penalty.

3-0 England and one of the goals of the tournament so far from Jesse Lingard who wins the bill on the left, turns it inside to Sterling who instinctively turns it back into the path of Lingard who takes a touch and curls it beautifully into the top corner from 20 yards.

4-0 England, Stones again after a terrific free kick routine.

England are playing the best football of the tournament. Which is something in itself.

How did the US lose a WC spot to this team. My god

Another penalty for England, this time for grappling of Harry Kane. About time. This should be 5-0 and it's not even half time.

Never in doubt, Kane buries it. 5-0.

Half time. England just need to manage themselves mentally in the second half and they'll be fine.

Am I right in thinking that Panama isn’t playing particularly badly? England just seems to be executing magnificently. Panama doesn’t seem to be making silly mistakes or gaffes, other than the conceded penalty kicks.

Definitely. They've played some tidy stuff when they haven't been going full Bengals.

No, they're awful -- a parody of bad Latin American football. All of the viciousness and play-acting, none of the organization, imagination and skill.

Can't really say because I haven't watched very much. I thought that Brazil looked fantastic in the second half until Neymar spoiled it for me with his cheating fakery.

But I don't think I can ever remember seeing a better co-ordinated and more original free kick routine than England's fourth goal. Wasted on these guys, but still. What a goal!

They're six-nil behind, but that was a lovely goal. Happy for their fans to have something to celebrate.

EDIT: Panama fans celebrate like they've won the tournament. Henderson plays a pass straight into touch.

EDIT2: The Panama coach looked happy as Larry at the end. And the Panama fans too. Good luck to them all.

Who has England played yet? I will wait to see how they do against a team like belgium.

Rooting for Colombia today. They need Japan to beat senegal or at least have a draw.

If there is an African team with any chance of going far is Senegal. By far the best and most organized team in the continent

Japan plays smart, Senegal plays organised. This is a really good match. Both are pretty fast, despite the fact Senegal has a clear size advantage they're just about equal on speed. The play on Japan's goal was very quick.
I think Senegal is all-around the better team but Japan has a shot at surviving at the very least because they can outsmart their opponents. I wish both well in this tournament. Both have had small success that I would be delighted to see grow here.

So England & Belgium are now tied in 3 categories, if they draw Thurs then how is the tie breaker decided in that case?

What a goal by Senegal in the 71' and what a goal by Japan in the 78'. This is a great back & forth match. Japan is staying in it and Senegal is striking quickly. Both are making mistakes that they're sure to work on over the course of the next 3 days.

I'm really liking what I'm seeing from Senegal. Still some areas on which to improve but they're pretty solid. And kudos to Japan for keeping up with them. They're both very focused and fast teams. Wanna see more of them as the tournament goes on.
