There is NO WAY _____ Makes This Team!!!

Seems as though there is lots of love for Mike Gillislee who nary played a down in the second half of last season.. If I remember correctly the Pats have an out on him this year.. will free up 2+ million in cap space.. he seems most likely.

If Allen is cut who will be our blocking TE???

Richards is confusing, as he does not seem to have all that much talent.. but he comes from a great school and is probably smarter than many, maybe BB favors his on field knowledge than his talent.. but if he goes will not surprise me.
Allen outta at least take a pay cut. Will anyone else really pay him close to 5 mill?

And Allen will be forced to take that pay cut WHEN AND IF Belichick is convinced that he has players who can be our blocking TE with anywhere near the ability that he has, and when we have someone that Belichick believes is an acceptable starter if Gronk goes down (not a replacement, just an adequate starter).

Hollister, Tye and Nicklas may make it possible to ask Allen to take a major reduction in compensation, or not.

Belichick is under no pressure to act quickly. The TE situation has been very questionable. We didn't know if Gronk would play this year, or whether he might be traded so that we could have a shot at a top QB. It seems that we have passed that hurdle. So, Allan doesn't need to be our #1 TE. Now, we need to fill the blocking TE job, and the #3 TE job. Allan might negotiate at any point between now and Game 1.

How will Richards not make the team? Many of us wish there was an answer to this and would be willing to help in any way possible to make it so. His roster spot (and playing time) is clearly not correlated to his play. Is Belichick really just stubbornly trying to stick it to all those critics of this draft pick reach and unsurprising flop? Because it may have cost us a world championship.
I've heard talk of them perhaps using Rowe in Chung's safety/linebacker/cornerback role. Rowe has the size to do it, and has shown some defensive ability over the past two seasons (say what you want about him, he's better than Richards). Personally, I think it's an experiment worth trying out.

Also don't know why Kenny Vaccaro and Eric Reid are still available. I'd sign either one of those two right now

Rowe as a safety sounds reasonable. He played it in college and his size enables him to be a hybrid player. Additionally he might be in jeopardy of losing roster spot as a CB.That idea is worth trying out especially if it means sending Richards out of the team.

Vaccaro struggled last year but Reid was a beast and he arguably had his best year last year. I didn't think his prior kneeling would prevent teams in signing him because unlike Kap, he can actually play.

Rowe isn't going anywhere IMO unless he has a dreadful camp/preseason.

He is average but not bad. Aside from Gilmore I can't necessarily say there is anyone better. Jonathan Jones could be better but we'll see.

If Reid gave assurences that he would no longer continue to slap the faces of his employers, then I too would sign him in a heartbeat. And to show that there are no hard feelings towards those who have seen the error of their ways, I would've drafted his brother instead of the Duke (but Not of Dorchester) Dawson.

Definitely Reid would be a great addition. His brother Justin was one of my favourite players in the draft. However I like Dawson on the footage and I believe he will give us flexibility and calmness in the middle of the field.

At this point in the offseason... I've got to go with....

*Ray Lewis killed a guy

It's the only thing that I'm sure of.

Well, it seems like every year the Pats cut someone from a position where there is little if any depth, so my money is on Etling.

Is depth the consideration or is it about talent and ability??

I can't envision Hoyer not making the team with his $900,000 team friendly contract plus his experience with Josh seems to make it a no-brainer.[

Under what scenario do you see a Hoyer farewell, the Pats pick up a
released young promising QB?

Seems like there's a lot of people saying there's no way Richards makes the team... which feels more like wishful thinking than any kind of educated prediction.

Although, with the new kickoff rules, perhaps other players will excel on those teams more and lessen his value?
