Pats try out 3 QB's? What's up with that?

"Flutter" - that wasn't the first word to come to mind after the 60 yard strike to Cooks. Brady's problems last night - middling gameplan, mediocre adjustments, no Edelman so no short game, bad blocking late, receivers and backs he's not yet comfortable with, rust. Too early to see "decline." Let's see how it plays out.
Brady wasn't his usual self sure, but hell, the coaching was piss poor in the second half. It wasn't a good performance by the Pats coaches.

Last month I started hearing about Brady's "weak 40 year old" arm despite firing lasers in overtime after 90+ offensive plays in the SB.

Last night Brady throws a strike that traveled 60 yards in the air to Cooks.

Well I guess that ended the "Weak arm" discussion.

So now we have to debate fluttering?

He threw plenty of "non fluttering" darts last night.

Brady didn't look good but it had nothing to do w age imo.. he'll be fine.

This has nothing to do with TB12, though, I know that. They need an emergency guy OR it's possible a JG replacement. Nothing to do with Tommys performance las night

This may have been the plan all along once Brissett was traded... they may have figured "ok since we traded our #3, we need to look at some new guys.... but it makes more sense to wait until the Friday after KC....."

They do this every year, this isn't anything out of the ordinary. They want to be ready in case of an injury.

Exactly.
Are people thinking Brady is the Tim Wakefield of the NFL?

Anyone else want to say he has a noodle arm after one game?

Keep telling people Brady didn't look good last night. Nice to know I'm not the only one. Just quite interesting they bring 4 QBs in the day after TB goes for 44 percent. BB sees everything and he might not have liked what he Saw.

Who knows.
Yea, they should cut Brady now and move on. With 15 games left there's still time to salvage what they can out of this season. Who knows, maybe they could still make the playoffs.

What a freaking revelation: Brady didn't look good last night. Hey, how'd the defense do? Oh yeah, the Brady narrative is just easier to use to blame the loss on.

He had a subpar opener, and still lead the offense to 27 points, which should win you most of your games in the league.
Brady was sub par but I didn't see his physical skills diminished. It was simply a poor game more than a sign that he is on the decline. People are so desperate to push that narrative.

The defense is to blame for losing that game. They gave up and were embarrassing. The offense still scored 27 and should have had more. There are concerns but the defense blew it. They totally puked all over themselves in the second half.

Well we traded a quarterback last week, so I'm going to go way out on a limb and suggest that this might somehow be related to that. Maybe due diligence so that Belichick will have a contingency plan in place in case one of our QBs gets hurt at some point this season.

Or maybe it's because after watching Brady all through training camp and being happy enough with with Brady's status to trade Brissett, Belichick's suddenly decided that his career's over and we need to bring Matt ****ing Barkley in to fix things.

Who knows, really.

The answer is clear as day.

They want to develop the next Edelman.

Welcome to the conversation we'll be having from now until Brady retires, every time Brady is less than perfect, and especially whenever another quarterback is seen anywhere near Gillette, even if that quarterback just bought a ticket to the game..

Brady was not up to his usual but that's to be expected with the injuries in the offense. The offensive schemes got turned on their head at the last minute, it's going to take time to put them right again. And the Chiefs defense is very good, easily good enough for Any Given Sunday to apply. KC has always been a strong opponent for us to face. Not the first time they have brought us up short.

There is no need to panic. I for one am almost glad that the perfection BS died before it could ever get started.

Personally I think bb is looking for a replacement for Brissett, either for the roster or the squad, nothing more.

I don't think he's gone off the deep end, but Tom was definitely off his game in more ways than just overthrowing passes. A lot of these were thrown into tight coverage, but several were just uncharacteristically inaccurate floaters or "rainbow passes." This is an issue because it takes longer for the ball to get there and allows the DB more time to catch up or make a play or for an open gap on a zone to close up.

I'm not saying he won't bounce back, because Tom is the GOAT and chances are that he will. But he definately wasn't his usual self for this game....
