Sometimes guys have fluky pass rush seasons here and there, hopefully Flowers isn't one of those guys. Big playoff run and big SB, this guy going to be a double digit sack threat year in year out? Really need the big guy to have another nice season with Nink retiring. Had something like 7 sacks in the last 6 or 7 games of the regular season, some bizzaro Chandler Jones stuff.

I'm not going to expect the next great NFL pass rusher but last season was not a fluke. We all saw something was there in his 1st preseason but the injury slowed him down. I expect solid production at worst from here on out.

I think he's going to be an MVP. I also think he's nice a big time bust. He could be the next Jimmy Garoppolo. I think it's his right to kneel for the national anthem. Brady's done.

You have to be careful judging a player by sacks in a BB defense.

There is no position in this defense that says play like Dwight Freeney and use pass rush moves on every play and just ignore the run or your role as part of a pass rush UNIT.

What I like about Flowers is his versatility. He can play anywhere from over the g to over the TE.
He plays well vs the run, plays very physically and can rush from inside or outside.

He reminds me a lot of Chandler Jones (who was a very good run defender here) although he seems better rushing inside than Jones but not as good from the outside.

Hopefully he continues to differ from jones by playing well in big games.

I think he'll be a solid starter, which might mean some on here will be disappointed. Add to that what has been stated already (judging "success in BB's scheme" is iffy at best). Further, IF the other DE isn't too spectacular, he might get extra attention - meaning the numbers might not meet the effort/production.

Glad we have him.

Expectations should be realistic.

No question he has talent .

The question is can he do it over an entire season

After the first year we had sheard I thought we had gotten a major player who was going to be a fixture on the DL for years. Then he went from being a part time rotational player to a full time starter and fell apart. One thing to keep in mind, and you see this in small RB's all the time, just because someone can be dominant for 20 snaps a game doesn't mean they will put up even better stats playing the entire game. I am excited about flowers and think he can be a solid starter but a 12+ pro bowl sack artist is a bit much. I expect 6-8 sacks but with a very nink feel to them, 5-7 will be the oh god oh god someone anyone make a play Yesssss!!! While also being technically sound and being a plus run defender.

Why is that the question? I see nothing flash in the pan about him.

Flowers is a real binky of mine and prob the only reason I haven't took a dive off the Tobin in light of the Rivers.

Flowers isn't an edge bender. He's a fighter who uses hands, length and motor to win.

He's absolutely the real deal. Outside/Inside. Doesn't matter to me.

Sacks are extremely important and kill a drive 85% of the time. I'll take em any way we get em.

I just hope he becomes what Sheard failed to be for us last year. I had high hopes for Sheard that were very let down.

I remember his rookie preseason, and I'm usually not the best at noticing good defensive technique. Kid's been doing it right from the beginning.

His success is methodical, not coincidental. Pro bowler, 12 sacks this season. Half from the inside.

Edit: Also beats the **** out of Ray Lewis.

.

He's the opposite of jones. Jones disappears late in the season and big games, unlike what flowers did Flowers.
