I'm sure this has been done countless times but I'm kind of new here and I love debating. I'm just curious to see how everyone else ranks QB's all time.

My top 10:

1. Tom Brady (I'm sure most will agree here)
2. Joe Montana
3. Peyton Manning
4. John Elway
5. Johnny Unitas
6. Otto Graham
7. Brett Favre
8. Dan Marino
9. Drew Brees
10. Roger Staubach

1-5 I'm much more confident on than 6-10, which frequently changes for me.

I made a list not long ago and will update it now. First off no one on my list didn't play in the super bowl era. That is too far back with a game that is too different. That being said

#1 Brady
#2 Montana
#3 Staubach
#4 Unitas
#5 Young
#6 Starr
#7 Elway
#8 Brees
#9 Rodgers
#10 Manning

HMs: Marino, Favre, Warner, Aikman, Tarkenton, Kelly, Bradshaw

Old timers: Graham, Baugh, Luckman, Tittle.

That thread asks who the 2nd best is, not a person's top 10 lol

It just assumes Brady at #1, which is essentially what you did when you wrote

1. Tom Brady (I'm sure most will agree here)
. It's the same thread.

And I'll write the same thing here that I wrote there:

Any "Top QB of all time" list that doesn't have

Brady
Montana
Starr
Baugh
Graham
Unitas

as the top 6 (regardless of order) is a list not worth reading. We (worldwide collective, not specific to this thread or board) probably need to change this to

"Top QB of the Super Bowl era".

There's nothing wrong with re-visiting the topic. It's just that we discussed it a few days ago so I gave you the link.

Yeah those guys were each the best of their era but coming up with a top 10 is hard. Some deserving players are gonna be left off no matter what.

Forehead is out of the top 5 since he failed to play well in a single super bowl.

The correct order for QBs... well, more correct lots of ties because comparing across eras is stupid. Seriously, the game is barely recognizable the further back we go

1.Sammy Baugh, because he turned the running back QB into the passer we know. Yes, he kind of invented it - he had three coaches. I admit this is kind of honorary and I'm screwing Sid Luckman :) .

2. Tom Brady

3a Otto Graham, 3b Bart Starr, 3c Joe Montana, 3d John Elway,

7a Peyton Manning, 7b Roger Staubach, 7c Kurt Warner, 7d Sid Luckman, 7e Bobby Layne, 7f Unitas

That is more than 10. I can see arguments for many being 7g. (Especially Moon who legitimately has a racism claim making him spend his prime in the CFL.)

John Elway
105-27 home record
57-62 road record

Favre also had an insane home road split with a losing road record.

I can't put a guy in my top 10 if they have a losing road record. Don't care how good they were at home.

Btw, Brady is 88-40 on the road.

I'm guessing you never saw Staubach play.

You'd be correct. I'm not sure whether your suggesting he's too high or too low.

My guess is that he'll tell you what I'd tell you:

You've got Manning, Favre, Brees and Marino too high
You've got Staubach too low
You're completely missing Baugh and Starr

Thanks for remembering Bobby Layne, one of my favorites. There is no way to set a limit on who to include. Haven't seen Sonny Jurgenson or Bob Waterfield. Starr and Tittle. Moon were mentioned briefly. I hate these kind of exercises.

OK, #1 is....um...don't tell me don't tell me...uh...T-T-T-Tom...um, Tom...

Tom Tupa!...No, wait-Tom Brokaw!...Tom Watson!

Tom...Tom...Tom......Tim Thomas! Tim Thomason! Thomas Edison! Tom Terrific!

Wait. The ...Partridge Family...uh, David Cassidy? David Carradine!

Come on, I've almost got it...Damn!...uh...Bunchacrunch...No, no hints!!...

Brady Anderson! The Brady Bills...it'll come to me....

That's fair, it's all a matter of opinion. There have been so many great QBs it's impossible to make a perfect list.

Went off the rails right after 3c...VERY good start though.
