Mortensen says he got death threats from Pats fans AFTER getting cancer

All he had to do is retract his story and name the source. It's not like this was life or death or some government conspiracy. If he was totally in the right and was protecting his source I could respect that.

However, he claims his so called source was wrong. If he feels that way, why protect him/her? Why not name that person and throw them down the river? Is it so big that it would shake the foundation of the NFL? Either there was no source to name because he made it up or it was another owner or league office official....cough....Kensil.

I was going to make a joke about how us spoiled Pats fans always hope and expect a comeback... But I won't.

But totally agree with the prior poster, now this guy is attacking the fan base, seriously? What about all the high-horse Pats fans giving him insincere well wishes like it was the new, alternative version of getting triggered? Does he talk about those people?

Why is Mortensen talking about death threats, but we haven't heard about any at Goodell? Not wishing anyone dead, but there's a lot more hate towards Goodell.

Do not want to sound crass or insensitive, but he has stage 4 throat cancer, no wonder he went straight home and did not want to go to restaurants or appear in public.. he's sick.

. When Mort himself came to Bristol, he behaved like someone who was living under a public threat. He went straight from the ESPN studio to his home, avoiding restaurants and rarely appearing in public.

Ill say two things about this.

#1. Mort should have just recanted this story and admitted that the 11 of 12 thing was inaccurate after further digging.

#2. IF you send a death threat or a death wish over sports, you are a complete ****ing loser. From someone who has seen this done to multiple people close to me, and having dealt with them myself, you are really the lowest form of life to do that.

Everyone gets riled up over their team but actually wanting death for another person is beyond me.

I understand what you're saying, but it's not just about sports.......it's about being willingly complicit is a false scheme to undermine not only the best to ever play the game, but to undermine that person's life all the way through fully knowing that you did it on a lie........and if you refuse to stand up and admit error, the you are every bit a part of that lie as anyone else.....he is as bad as goodell.....and it is his job to be impartial

I don't understand how any Pats fan could feel any other way. He's as guilty as anyone and, after lying to the world about getting an apology from the Krafts, now he's trying to double down on it (or is it triple down) by whining about the way he's being treated by Pats fans.

When guys tout the cancer survivor status (an awesome thing in its own right) in order to mask the fact they are (1) evil and/or (2) a-holes (see Lance Armstrong and this putz), I find myself wanting in either sympathy or concern for whatever happens to them as a result of their choices in life.

I'm sure Kravitz did claim he was threatened and he cowered in fear when Portnoy tried to talk to him at the Super Bowl.

It was actually Kravitz' ****tard in crime, Gregg Doyel, though, who claimed that Patriots fans slashed his tire. Of course, the alleged vandalism took place at his home in Indiana and he has absolutely no evidence about who might have done it, but he just assumed it was a Patriots fan. He refuses to acknowledge that it may have been done by some random person who may not even care about football or Gregg might have done it himself by running into a curb.

That helps to explain his view on deflategate: Just form an opinion based on your biases, don't worry about facts, science, logic or common sense. Once you've done that, never change your mind, no matter what new information becomes available.
