For the first time in about 10 years I do not have Sunday Ticket. This will be the first game that I have not either been at, or was on in prime time, and in my area they will not be showing this game on CBS.

One option I have is going to a bar to watch, but that's tough with my 17 year old son along.

I have noticed a bunch of comments on this board about how people get the game, without using TV.
I would appreciate it anyone who uses such a method could give me some advice.

You can get a stream from almost all college and NFL games on Firstrowsports. You will have to watch on a computer, unless you have cables to connect a laptop on the TV, but the quality of the stream that is already low on the computer will get worse when maximized on TV.

Most nfl streams are poor quality- and they can black out at the wrong time. For some reason, the mlb streams are excellent quality-maybe goodell et al are sabotaging the nfl games. My advice is find a major sports bar-like a buffalo wild wings-NOT a neighborhood bar. The big sports bars on sundays will have lots of families and kids and be more conducive to bringing your son than your regular "bar" bar. You wont have to deal with all the profanity and sloppy drunks.

I think they charge you now or require you to log in or something. Before it used to be free and completely anonymous

Not true. But I do agree the quality is horrible.

No they don't. I watched last weeks games on FRS and was not required to log in or pay anything. If you use it Just be prepared to be bombarded with ads unless you have an ad blocker. And as has been mentioned the quality is worse than what you'd get on an old tube TV. You can make out the action but you can't tell who is who when they show the overhead camera. If you want to test run try watching tonight's game on it.

Buy a jailbroken Fire Stick and stream it onto your TV. Crystal clear quality.

I know this isn't an option for everyone, but I rarely have the time to watch the game on Sundays, so I'll either do the NFL Rewind thing or do the Tenyardtorrent thing and watch the game on Monday mornings.

The best way is to google reddit NFLstream by game time. There is a Pats fan running HD feed regularly. He runs via YouTube live stream. The quality is awesome.

Ok thanks for the clarification.

a "jailbroken" fire stick is really just a fire stick with Kodi loaded onto it plus addons for the streaming sites. if you have a fire stick, you can sideload Kodi yourself. you don't need to pay someone else to do it, unless you're not technically adept. instructions are here:

HOW-TO:Install Kodi on Fire TV - Official Kodi Wiki

if you don't mind watching on a non-TV device, then you can just install Kodi plus the addons. Kodi is available for windows, os x, ios (although not straightforward), android, and linux (my preference). for the streaming addons, just google "nfl games kodi".

I know. I just bought mine like it is directly off of eBay. Works like a charm. Once I found a reliable NFL stream for it, I've been using it every weekend.

I have a firestick with kodi loaded on it.
I have numerous sites within and have not found the one that will get me NFL games. What is it called?

I have one but cant find nfl games on it.

SportsDevil. When I get back to my house at some point after the storm, I'll point you in the right direction.

What exactly are these things and what's the jailbreak do? Are they not designed to browse the net or something and the jailbreak lets you do it?

Tell me more about this. How does it know which games to stream?

It puts an app called "Kodi" onto the Fire Stick which allows you to use different streaming services to stream live sports, TV, and movies.
