Danny Amendola - WR - Patriots

Danny Amendola was limited in Wednesday's practice with a groin injury.
Amendola has been dealing with the injury the last two weeks, but the Patriots are just disclosing it now. It's not clear if it will impact his status for Week 1 against the Bills, but it explains why he didn't play in the third preseason game. If Amendola is ruled out, Julian Edelman will replace him as New England's slot receiver.

guess that solves that mystery, too bad it's of the nagging variety. Has he been limited everyday since the preseason game or is this the first day? Hoping it's just precaution.

you've got to be $hitting me.... season hasn't even started, he's already a gimp.

Christ....

He's my WR1 in fantasy football too. Double whammy.

Maybe its like Brady's shoulder "injury"?

Wouldn't be shocked at all if all the players listed as "limited" play, unless the Dobson hammy injury is really a "hammy" injury and they don't use him much this season, which would be kind of a shame but it did work for Vereen.

Let's overreact and accuse players of not being tough enough!

What the heck? Are you in a 28 person league?

I believed, genuinely, that if healthy he would put up numbers similar to Welker. (I also drafted AP and PManning before a WR.) 8 person league and 1st in draft order.

Probably a bad decision, if that's what you're alluding to. (And being petty, I didn't want my Mom or wife to get him.) ROFL

I don't know with his injury history that it's an overreaction any more than one would do with any player that's got a rough history with that sort of thing. Those guys are all tough, of course. But if hyperbole is appropriate for players like Ras-IR, I don't think it's off base for Amendola if he misses gametime yet again. It's not like we should just pretend his performance in previous organizations shouldn't count. It was the biggest question mark about him coming in.

I'm glad it's not concussion related.

Rub some dirt on it, Danny.

Gisele must really like amendola. She has tom's and now Danny's balls.......... Lol

Amendola has an injury? I'm shocked, Batman!

I think there's a difference between toughness and durability. Amendola is clearly tough as nails. I do think there's some guys who just for whatever reason, despite that, get injured more easily than others. And I don't think there's a darn thing they can do about it. (Other than some of the roidheads that are ripping shins because of the drug use.)

I don't know if Amendola is in this category yet or not. I do think if he misses significant time this season he might belong there. And that's not a knock on his mental or physical toughness. I think some guys just might be flat-out injury prone: Science in Football: Genetic Testing to Identify Injury-Prone Players | Bleacher Report (And yes, I know it's a bleacher report article. Other outlets have reported on such things time-to-time, I just pulled the first Google hit since I have trouble explaining myself at times.)

If he still had groin prob, he wouldnt practice. Probably had, and they are just being careful. And BB loves to list everything, will worry if he doesnt play week 2.

Could you please cite his 'history with' soft tissue/muscle strains/pulls/tears? I've searched the Internet and can't seem to come up with any history of 'that sort of thing.' Thanks

Every time i've seen Breer talk about Amendola this preseason, he's always brought up that the Pats might limit him throughout the course of the season.

I'd imagine limiting him in practice might be part of that.

For all we know his limitation in practice today could of consisted of him running one on one routes with Brady throwing to him.
