When did you get the sinking feeling?

Welker drop on second down then Brady throwing behind Branch on 3rd. As well as the defense had played I knew Eli would at least get the Giants in field goal range. That welker drop was a killer. Not a good throw but one that he has to catch. Nicks had a similar ball earlier in the game and made the catch over 2 Patriots with no problem, the talent difference between the receiver corps is huge and we really need an outside guy.

The Brady pick sucked but I didn't lose faith there. It wasn't even a bad decision Brady just didn't set before he threw it and he under threw Gronk because he rushed it.

I was livid that they were milking the clock too early on the next to last drive. I felt they should have got the ball to the Giants 40 before milking. They really slowed their offense down at that point which was not how we moved the chains normally. It should not have come to that pass to Welker ... our short passes were working but those lame off tackle runs got us nothing but less clock to use in the end.

Very simple, when Kyle Williams gift wrapped the NFC Game two weeks ago, with his second fumble, in OT, that all but handed NYG the game.

Welker drop.

I just knew they weren't going to pick up the 1st down after that and while I felt decently confident they could deny the NYG a TD, I knew there was no way they would keep them out of FG range, especially in a dome. The Manningham catch merely iced the feeling.

I never get that "sinking feeling."

This team played MILES over its head.

In fact, EVERY Patriots team since 2000 has played MILES over its head.

...except, perhaps, the 2009 edition.

I was intensely bitter about losing to the #$%&, but that's the chance you take.

News Flash: Coach Bill the Mad (Genius) and General Tom Brady are LIGHT years away from Perfection.

But any "sinking feeling" one has, while rooting for them, is 1000% a result of your OWN lack of confidence, and not even REMOTELY warranted by anything these two flawed but AMAZING Souls ~ or the rest of this extraordinary BrotherHood of Warriors ~ hath wrought, ere the last decade.

To win and lose with these guys is a PRIVILEGE.

"SINKING FEELING???"

Don't let the door hit your @$$.

When Brady and Branch couldn't connect on 3rd and 11.

When Manningham caught the deep pass, I started yelling, "Let them score!" because I knew they were going to at that point, and we might as well get as much time as we had left.

I still believe that if Belichick had had the balls to let them score from further on out, and give Brady more time - that we win that game.

The entire pace of the Second to Last drive. I was watching the Best Coach and QB combo playing not to lose... knowing... were going to lose.

We were killing clock I knew WE would need... we were running clock when we werent even in scoring position... I knew we were going to lose.

As others have said somewhere between the Welker & Branch drops and the Manningham catch.

When I saw that Antwan Molden was playing Cornerback

For me, it was after the third fumble and the Niko offside. I just knew no matter what, it was not our day.

Brady and BB were not playing to lose. They were doing what they should have done. They were making big plays and milking the clock plain and simple. Practically, they would have won even without scoring points in that situation. That Welker/Branch drop was huge. Plain and simple. If one of them make the play, its a different ball game. The Giants couldn't stop them at all, and it was no reason to risk a turnover. The Giants would have never seen the ball again if Welker or Branch caught the ball.

The Welker drop hurt, but Manningham's catch is when I really felt it...

This. First off that catch was magnificent by itself but seeing it happen just after The Drop just hammered it home for me that the Giants had a lot of light on them, they were ON, and I didn't really see the Pats stopping it that late in the game. Not after The Drop was bad enough, watching such an awesome catch right after just :bricks:

The back to back drops by Welker and Branch after the failed run attempt by BJGE where Polite ran right past Chris Canty instead of blocking him.

What Game were you watching? We scored once in the second half...

I was referring to the second to last drive that the original poster was talking about. I know they scored once in the second half.

For me the sinking feeling was all the fumbles and spikes/mayo inches away from tipping/intercepting passes

After Welker dropped the ball, I felt it coming on. When Branch dropped the next one, I figured it might be done for the Pats.

When the D let couldn't stop NY offense from getting 1st downs, I was feeling it. And when the Pats waited til there was 60 secs left before going on and letting the Giants score, I really felt it.

When Hernandez dropped Brady's pass, with 50-something seconds left, it was coming down on me. When Brady's protection got worse on the next play, it hit me.

When brady completed a pass to Branch, I got shocked because Branch finally didn't drop it. When the 12 men on the field penalty came about, I got excited because I thought they would put 8 secs back on the clock. They didn't.

Then it finally completely hit me. But for some reason, I thought that perfect hail-mary pass would be caught by at least by Gronk, but I guess he was too dumb to react.

For some reason, I can't really figure out why the Pats lost this one either, it's not like they were outplayed or anything, they just gave it away. Oh well, they'll be playing in NO next year.

Fourth Quarter

1-10-NE 43 (14:31) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 12-Tom Brady pass deep left intended for 87-R. Gronkowski INTERCEPTED by 93-C. Blackburn at NYG 8. 93-C. Blackburn to NYG 8 for no gain (87-R. Gronkowski).
