Pats holding private workout with Tebow

I would be extremely pissed off if we draft Tebow. I would like to think that BB and the FO are smart enough not to go down that road...

I'd rather draft Konz. Now that guy is a freak, could play TE, FB, or H-Back. I think Tebow is similar except he's not quite as athletic and he still thinks he's a QB. :)

4.4 40 and 46" vertical? I'd want to try him at S, too. :D

As far as Tebow goes, though—he is left-handed. . . . and they just drafted a swing tackle in Vollmer. . . .

I'm starting to really hope the Patriots draft Tebow in round 2. The weeping and gnashing of teeth of some, coupled with the immediate flip-flops of others, would make for days of pure hilarity.

I wonder who will be the recievers for his workout...i am willing to bet this is a smoke screen and we are really working out Hernandez, not Tebow

I'm not certain I want him for QB, but he's obviously a "player", a guy that gets it, wants to win, gives a sht etc.........
There must be some place for a guy with a heart like that, but at what spot do ya take a shot at a guy like that?

I bet he can play as many games at DB as Wheatley !

FB, RB, TE, SS, OLD, whatever. Let him try them all and maybe he'll click at one.

Last time it was Dan Klecko, who we tried at NT, DT, DE, ILB, OLB and FB. broke my heart when he was cut.

Although I don't think we should use any of our first 4 picks on Tebow, if we do,he'll be a better asset to the team than what Brace will ever be for us.
You're probably right.
Heh
Relax, Bro. Pats are not gonna spend a 1 or 2 round pick on Tebow
I wouldn't be too sure of that. Just two years ago, the Pats used a 3rd on O'Connell.
Tebow will be a great NFL quarterback and he fills a need. If Tom's knee, shoulder, foot, finger, injuries reappear as he gets older we will have a quality replacement. Obviously we disagree on Tebow's ability to play QB, but Belichick has the final say and I think he knows more than I do on the subject.
Here's the thing and what I've been trying to convey for the last few years. If Brady still wants to win, I don't think he will appreciate the Pats using another high draft pick on a QB when it could go towards a current need. In fact, they are hurting at several positions and using a high draft pick on a raw-project like Tebow would be a huge risk. It's not like Brady is on his way out like Brett Favre. However, lets say the Pats are dumb enough to take Tebow with one of their first 4 picks and nobody from their '09-'10 (I use these two years because we pretty much know what we have from our '06-'08 class) emerge as a starter and make some sort of an impact. Brady may be a free agent, and if he feels this team is maxed out, he will leave (or want to leave).

Like Condon84 said, this board will explode with traffic if it happens. It might go down as the Pats most controversial pick of all time.

It's already hilarious talking about it, might as well make it happen. This board would explode if Tebow gets drafted.

I would be happy about the pick as a TE/H-Back.

A team that has as many holes as the Patriots have would be wasting a draft pick if they choose him in the 2nd round.

I would be fine with it if he slipped to the 4th round.

Days?

More from April 23d->September this board would be full of both; LOLZ and trolls.

saw this earlier..... i'll post it now since this thread will never die.

Tim Tebow-QB- Player Mar. 19 - 2:11 pm et

Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post is "hearing" that Florida QB Tim Tebow won't last past the second round of the draft.
Round two seems right, and we're betting Tebow is the third quarterback drafted behind Sam Bradford and Jimmy Clausen. It's worth noting that the Patriots have been connected to Tebow and have three second-round picks.

If we use a 2 for Tebow I will be livid.:violent:

I do see him being a 2nd round selection by some team.

I'd bet $ that he is better than Chad for a Rd2 selection, and folks were cheering for that 1.

Muzz I would edit my last post,

but we cant live in the past about failed 2's and other picks.

Where would he fit?

I'm with you; people are going to absolutely lose their **** no matter what, might as well maximize the spectacle. Plus all the Tebow fans across the country would have to figure out if their love for him could cancel out their hatred of Belichick, and who knows, we might even get a decent tight end out of it.

I wouldn't want the patriots to use any higher than a 4th round pick in which case I think he'll be gome anyway.

A Brady replacement? Tebow is a gimmick, and could replace guys like McNabb, Vick, etc, but Brady? Bad idea. I think backups are better when they can step in and play should the QB go down. That means being able to use the same basic plays and playbook the starting QB does. So backups for Brady include a lot of guys but not Tebow. Or Pat White.

I understand the success Michael Bishop had here playing on third down for Bledsoe, and it is possible that Tebow could enjoy the same success as Bishop, but if the team wants a replacemetn for Brady, I think the team is better off looking for a replacement for Brady, not a complimentary piece. Tebow would be great as a gimmick QB, and if he could play TE one tenth as well as Edelman and Randal El played WR, he'll be fine
Huh? Bishop only played to throw Hail Marys. He never came in on 3rd downs, much less had succes in any way.

Do owners get a piece of jersey sales profits?

Wouldn't surprise me if Kraft drafted him just to rake in the profits from all the Pats Tebow jerseys

OK, I haven't read the entire thread, but you may very possibly be brain dead.

I'm sure Ian would be delighted, there would certainly be an influx of new members, after all Tebow has his own army of supporters.
