New England Patriots tight end, Rob Gronkowski, was awarded the Comeback Player of the Year, voted on by the Professional Football Writers of America.

After a devastating knee injury ended his 2013 regular season, Gronkowski was one of two unanimous All-Pro selections in 2014 (J.J. Watt was the other) and had a terrific statistical year.

Gronk finished the regular season with 82 catches for 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns. All three categories were the second-highest of his career, falling short of his 2011 season when he posted 90 receptions for 1,327 and 17 touchdowns.

The last member of the Patriots to win the award was Tom Brady in 2009. Randy Moss also won the award in 2007.
