Someone will get his head taken off and/or need reconstructive surgery on his face. I can't see that happening any time... ever.
actually people say not having the helmets and pads can actually help prevent those injuries as people dont use their heads as a weapon.
Evidence would be rugby and australian rules football. Supposedly they dont have as many head injuries.

There were a significant number of football related deaths way back in the 19-teens, assuming a lot of them from head injuries. The flying wedge was made illegal, and there were probably other player safety related rule changes. I agree with others, you don't want to ever consider any game at any level without modern helmets.Back then, players weren't as fast and strong as they are today. I think football games this year should be played with Defensive players carrying baseball bats.
This would definitely lead to a decrease in spears and spear-related injuries.
This is based on the movie Leatherheads. It got me thinking, football used to be in those helmets, so why can't the NFL turn back the clock and all teams for one week wear those old style unis and helmets? This is to honor all those old timers. Just a thought.
I think it's a great idea for everyone, but the Pats.
Infact, I think the Jets should wear those old uniforms, pads and helmets both times we play them - Colts too......and Dolphins.
How can you forget about the Chargers?
