Correct. He wasn't a bad pick. Before he got hurt he was having a pretty good rookie year.FWIW, I still don't necessarily think that Dobson was a bad pick. Picks can only be evaluated based on what could reasonably (or even possibly) be projected at the time they were made.
In Dobson's case, there were no red flags re: injury coming into the league, and before he broke his foot he was a promising-but-inconsistent WR whose career was trending in the right direction.
Breaking his foot sucked, rushing him back so he lost his entire first offseason sucked even worse and it looks like that may have derailed his career. We'll probably never know what he would have been if he hadn't broken his foot, or if his injury had been properly managed. Sucks, but that's how it goes sometimes.
However, if the criteria is to project out how a 2nd rounder should contribute and perform over a multi-year period he has not met expectations.
