Vrabel has got the early lead in sacks. Do you think this trend will continue? Personally I would love to see Colvin "breakout" in the sack department this year. I think with Vrabel back on the outside full time(hopefully) both sides of the pass rush will need equal attetion thus freeing up Colvin a bit more than the past couple of years. Also do you think any of the D-Lineman will get to double digit sacks?

I think Vrabel holds his lead in the sack category, he is going to be a complete monster all season on the outside rush.

Temporarily off subject but is it possible to change my Moniker? If so, where? I have hated Patsman26 since i first rushed to create an account last year and would like to change it if possible. Thanks in advance.

I predict Adalius Thomas leads the team in sacks.

A different scheme and wrinkle every week.

    AD finishes the year with 8-9.5 sacks, 3 INT's, 6-8 PD's, 3-4 FF, 1-3 FR, 90-110 Tackles with 45-60 assists and 10-15 QB Pressures.

He may or may not lead the team in sacks but his overall stats will rival those of both McGinist+Bruschi in their prime.

I say rosie, He is as good a pass rusher as any but despite his int last week he is the weaker of the group in pass coverage, therefore he rushes more.....

I think probably Vrabel. Colvin generally goes up against the opposing team's LT, a much tougher task.

8-9.5 sacks ain't leading this team. It's going to be closer to 12-14.

I don't care as long as we just win, statistics like this do not mean lot.. kinda like who will have more TD passes Manning or Brady.. makes no difference, especially for a "team D" that is not driven by statistics.

Colvin's a in a contract year - needs to show he's returned from injury and can be a high impact, high salary player... he'll have a HUGE year.

    He is?
Regardless, I think Colvin and Vrabel will end up tied for the team lead in sacks.

Well, he's signed through 2008 - but I - and I think the players themselves - are looking for an extension going into their final contract year if indeed the team wants to keep them.

So Colvin's playing for an extension - effectively a new contract THIS season... and if he plays well enough there'll be a good offer... if not the team will let him play out his contract and walk away in free agency after next season, if they even do that, given his cap hit...

The team's not going to keep him at $7.3 million cap hit - with probably about $5 million of that as salary without some significant production THIS season.

So yes - consider Colvin as playing in a contract year.

I think this depends on the injury to Seymour - If he comes back in week 7 I say Adalius Thomas wins the sack competition.

If Seymour remains out for longer than 7 weeks and Jarvis Green plays longer than anticipated I say Green takes the sack championship back again for the 2nd straight year.

It will be very difficult for AD to win the competition as a ILB. Being inside he focuses more on stopping the run then rushing the passer.
I would say Green will have the most. He should match or supersede last years totals with all his extra playing time. When Seymour gets back Green will move in on 3rd downs fresh and focused on getting to the QB.

JSP- Colvin isn't a Free Agent until the end of the 2008 season. Now, I could see you saying that he's in a contract year if you feel that the 2008 contract he has is too prohibitive to keep him...

I think that Colvin will get a 3 year extension paying him around $15 million total.

I don't beleive anyone on this team has had double-digit sacks since Willie Mcginist had 11 back in 1995.
