Who is the weakest link in the "starting" 22?

This is a great question, because the reality is that there isn't a weak link, which is what this team has been about since 2001.
Look at the answers that are here:
Bruschi who has always played at a probowl level, but now some people read his date of birth and create a story that he is declining
Wilson who has started on 2 SB Champs, and was touted here as a probowl player the last time he was healthy
Light who was a probowl player LAST YEAR

Kaczur and OCallaghan have both been effective OL in their early years, and are at least as good as the 5th best OL on any NFL team.

I think it is sad that he seems to get physically dominated two out of every three games.

This is a crock of garbage. He doesn't get dominated 2 out of every 3 games. Just watch the play-offs....

Maybe if he was giving up 12-15 sacks I'd agree with you... Even the BEST have bad times. For instance, Walter Jones gave up 10.5 sacks last year. Orlando Pace? 4.50 sacks. Ogden? 3.5 in 14 games... Marcus McNeil- 5 sacks.

So, that puts Light's 7.5 allowed right in the middle.

In the middle of guys considered elite.

Nick Kaczer I know that's not spelled right and Ocallaghan because he is good at run blocking but doesn't have the quick feet needed to be a great pass block specialist.
So I think we will see these guys sub a lot this season which could give some teams ideas of what the play could be.
Of course knowing BB he will probobally bring in OCallaghan to pass and Kaczer to run to throw people off but who knows.

Matt Light...

Whoever is starting at free safety.

BTW, Light is an above average LT.

Stephen Neal

Not many weaknesses at all, so I give a "half weakness."

Ben Watson's blocking is below par. Of course he makes up for it in the passing game.

Actually..............

I think I'd question our punting game right now.

Our weakest link right now is the kicking game. The return team is vague at best and we just picked up a new punter.

Paxton has been as good a ST's long snapper for as long as I can remember without making a costly mistake, but how much can he affect the holder and kicker. Gostowski is only in his 2nd year and who is the consistent holder? Cassell <help>.

I know this is off-topic, but that's what scares me the most. Brad Seely has his work cut out for him this year.

As for our "starting 22", TE scares me the most. If Watson get's hurt, Thomas goes back down and Kyle Brady is ineffective, we've got big problems. Radar and Rivers are not saviors. That is the starting position that I beleive could burn us the worst.

Tedy Bruschi. He's lost a couple of steps; Seau's a better LB, I think, at this point in their respective careers. And then there's no one behind them besides Alexander, which is a little worrying.

Usually if your starter and primary backup go down at any position, you're in pretty bad shape. And Brady's better than most (if not all) 3rd TEs in the league.

On defense .... Eugene Wilson.

On offense .... The offensive coordinator.

My "top" 3 are:

Sanders due to experience ('though he's made a big jump)
Bruschi due to age
Wilson due to what he's been like w/o Rodney the last couple years

Cousin,
Can't agree with you on the upside to Sanders but the weak link is definitely Sanders. He might be small and slow but he can't tackle or cover either. Without question backup or ST material. They need help at safety right now! Darius? Help us SP.

Second choice, although not in the starting 22, is the new punter Hanson. Danny boy, in case you did not know, is facing assault charges in Plymouth county. What the H**l did a punter do to somebody? That is why he was cut I do believe.
