I may be in the minority but I still believe Waters will start at RG, leaving Connolly at center.
If not ... I would say Wendell is the fifth offensive lineman; that leaves the question as to whom plays C and who is at RG. My guess would be Connolly at RG since he spent most of August there, and Wendell at C since he spent more time this past month at C than at RG.
i dont think waters is coming back, so RG will be a weak point this season...lets hope its the only weak point after our T's get their heads on straight
Just looking at the depth chart it will a combination of Ryan Wendell/Dan Connolly. The fact Wendell actually has recent starting experience at center makes me think Connolly will be at RG. RG is a more important position to play anyways IMO.

I on the other hand prefer Connolly at G. Last year he didnt play there much, but the year before when Mankins held out, Connolly played RG (Neal was LG)and our line didn't do too bad in the first half of the season.
Sure Mankins improved us then, but going from Neal/Connolly to Mankins/Connolly is a definite improvement.
Also, I dont know whether Wendell is any good as a Guard. Cant remember seeing him play in that position.
Also, based on my experience of these two guys I'd say that Connolly is the better lineman (and kick returner) so he should play the more important position.
I'd much rather have Connolly at guard than center. Last year at center his pass blocking efficiency was 96.1 which ranked him as the 31st center in the league.
For what it's worth, isn't Dan Koppen still available?
I'm not suggesting that the Pats sign him to be the starting center, I'm just pointing out that I haven't heard that any team signed him, so he is still part of the shadow roster.

He tested FA last year and only had an interview with the Titans. I doubt any team would be interested at this point. Just another reason to feel OK about cutting him.
