Well, if this is any indication, any contract extension would be in the 7-9 mill range.
If guys like Hartline are getting this much, I don't see the Pats being active in the free agent market and fully expect them to take the draft route for a WR.

Free agent Brian Hartline is expected to seek a contract paying him $5-6 million annually this offseason.
Jordy Nelson, the receiver to whom Hartline was optimistically compared entering the 2012 season, only makes $3.5 million annually. The Dolphins want to re-sign Hartline for 2013, but it doesn't sound like they'll get a hometown discount. Hartline, 26, is coming off career highs in catches (74) and yards (1,083). Jan 25 - 1:13 PM
