I was watching the replay of the Skins game and something struck me about Watson. I don't think I've ever seen him actually get hit and knocked down. Even when he's in the "defenseless reciever" position, the defender always seems to take the brunt of the contact and has to resort to dragging Watson down. Almost funny to watch. The only question for me is his blocking. Not that I don't think he can I've just never really noticed one way or the other.

now that you mention it, i can't remember him ever going down without a fight either. In terms of his blocking ability, imho he's no Daniel Graham, but hes no slouch either- Given his athletic ability, with a little more time in the system blocking should become just another one of his strengths.

I can't remember exactly how much he bench pressed but I think he maxed out at 350 pounds! That is insane strength. In fact, he bench pressed 225 at least 30 times! That is more than some O-lineman. However, strength doesn't always translate on the field but this may be one of the reasons he is hard to drag down, he is incredibly strong!

4.44 in the 40-yard dash … 535-pound bench press … 570-pound squat … 380-pound power clean … 40-inch vertical jump … 33¾-inch arm length … 10-inch hands … Right-handed … Wears contacts.

And just as impressive:

Volunteer for the Habitat for Humanity, Mentoring for Athens/Clarke County Leisure Services, Reading Programs at local elementary schools, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Spokesperson, Boys and Girls Club of Athens, Americas Second Harvest Food Bank and Volunteer Salvation Army Toys-for-Tots programs.

Is it just me or could the Celtics use this guy? :D

or could Deion Branch use him as a personal trainer? Watson is 1 of the strongest and fastest on the team..hes a freak

Trust me, after this season Ben Watson's ability won't be underrated by anyone.

This is why I have been saying Watson is our #1 TE and that Graham will be expendable after this year, with Thomas and Mills on the team.

.

No way Graham's expendible after 2006, he is too good a two-way tight end. Most starting TEs are either pure receivers or pure blockers. Graham is one of the NFLs beft blocking TE, a 6th lineman on running plays, and he ranks in the top 25 in receiving catagories among TEs. You should not underestimate the value in that.

I remember hearing Wilfork say that Watson outlifted him at the combine, and Vince is no weakling.
