I'm open to any and every idea on fighting back the national media campaign lead by ESPN and being waged against the Patriots. For whatever reason, Mr Kraft & the Patriots organization have not been able to defend themselves and I've had it.

    I'll throw the first proposal out there;

Picket ESPN studios - This could force our voices to be heard. We'd need a spokesperson who could represent the Patriots, their fans and the truth who could speak to the media and deliver our message. AND we'd need a huge turnout!

    What do you guys think?

What a guy...thanks shmessy. I would definately go with my sign, but I wouldn't be the best public representative...I'd choke on live TV!

Maybe someone who is actually FROM the media might help out.

Kraft is no idiot. ESPN pays the league a billion dollars a year for 17 third and fourth rate games a year with their TV contract. If it wasn't for that, I think Mike Fish and ESPN would have to worry about a huge lawsuit from Mr. Kraft. Considering the NFL fleeced ESPN to pay for Monday Night Football and then make Sunday Night Football the marquee primetime game of the week, Kraft will look the other way until it gets bad enough that he has no choice but take action.

Don't you think Bob Kraft (who is obviously a very shrewd businessman) should invest in better PR personnel? The Patriots have decided to take the high road and not defend themselves from all of these allegations...I don't think the fans need to start a crusade when the owners of the business are (visibly) unconcerned.

Well, then maybe we stand up for ourselves as Patriot fans. "WE" need to be heard and "WE" need to stop the BS by publically calling out the media!

For some reason, I feel compelled to pick on ESPN...

Not really a solution to the issue of getting the truth in media, is it? I'm talking a "sick & tired of this sh!!t & I am NOT going to take it anymore and I'm gonna make you MF's hear me" kinda war.

Not watching is too passive and we'd need more to participate than something like a picket/protest. One thousand would look good on the news where a thousand boycotting ESPN wouldn't do diddly.

Let's face it in today's society picketing a building isn't going to do much but provide some comic relief for all the Pats haters out there.

I'm no Einstein but to me the most obvious form of protest for those (myself included) who think the Patriots have been and continue to be treated unfairly in the media (ESPN in particular) would be to boycott any and all sponsors of ESPN, their parent companies (Walt Disney and Hearst Corporation) and any and all networks affiliated with parent companies, commercial sponsors, etc...

The sudden complete cutoff of consumer purchasing of all New England Patriots fans in total would be devastating to ESPN in these trying economic times and would most certainly cause heads to roll if it was well planned and executed.

As the saying goes "Money talks, BS walks"

P.S. I don't personally have the time or resources to head off such a campaign but I myself would certainly abide by a "Do not purchase" list if it was circulated amongst NE Patriots fans.

That's just my two cents....and I'd rather ESPN not benefit from it.

    No Jersey Selected

i started my own private war against espn 25 years ago when i frst noticed their anti boston bias. i'm sure it's killing those ny lovers at bristol that all 4 boston teams are successful, while their beloved teams are a steaming pile of dung with the most embarrasing franchise in sports history, the knicks.that's why they're pushing this "spying" agenda. i'd welcome any type of organized boycott of espn above and beyond what i'm already doing.

edit : i think i'll call my cable co. in the morning and see if there is a digital cable package i can purchase without any forms of espn on it.

The reality is that about 75% of the country would not care if the Pats fell flat on their face or found out some salicious details of BB's private life.. the NY press, ESPN is the NY Press, is relentless about all things Boston Sports.. it is what it is..

Picket all you want, but there is no public interest or sympathy, there also is no corporate reasons to support such an action.. life will go on, the press will pick up anything against the Pats and then call for BB's suspension and the teams will keep winning and posting.. this negative press pisses us off, but is good for this team and its bunker mentality.

This is it in a nutshell. Pat's fans should take their lead from Bob and Bill. Rather than ranting and raving and drawing attention to those who live to cause them harm, they just quietly and firmly cut them off at the knees. Turn them off and tune them out. And if you can, do the same to their sponsors and when practical let them know why.

Bob is going to continue to take their money. What he will also do is cease to cooperate in their efforts to make any more at his expense. Same approach he will take with the Herald. Cut off or severly limit access. I guarantee you that quietly and discretely, behind the scenes, influence is also being exerted on sponsors and advertisers who want to partner with the NEP brand to end or not undertake new or additional business with outlets like the Herald, ESPN Boston (which is on life support as is), etc.

Another adage that applies, don't get mad...get even.
