How about Will Blackmon from BC? Played WR and CB in college. Is he worth a draft pick? I think he looks interesting. I find it a bit odd that there's not been a whole lot of talk about this guy.

I wouldn't mind Blackmon in the 5th rd.

Kiper said something interesting last night, he said that Cromartie from Florida State was one of the best Wideouts in the Country in High School, hmmmmmm. He has some serious height and speed.

He's also a punt returner - talk about multiskilled!

... I'd love to give him a chance and agree with your "Troy Jr." assessment on a number of different levels but I think he's projected as a third round pick.

I can't remember specific "cons" on him from previous draft assessments but I remember there were quite a few - perhaps size was one factor as a WR & CB (and we certainly have a lot of undersized guys at both those positions right now)

So I'd heartilly endorse using a 3rd or 4th round pick on him, depending on what else shakes down in the draft

Well, he's not the right religion but he is from the right state, so I say we take a chance on him.

Troy has some of the surest hands in the league (except for one notable exception, no explanation necessary for what I mean by that), Blackmon can't catch a ball tossed underhand from 3 feet away. Obviously I'm exaggerating, but the man's got no hands, and no position. He doesn't have the cover instincts to be a corner and he doesn't have the hands to be a receiver (though his hands are good for a corner). He's a good return specialist but there are alot of them in this draft who can actually play positions on a side of the ball.

Willie Reid WR/KR Florida State is the real Troy Brown Jr.

Ugh! I am a BC fanatic and all but NO, Blackmon is not worth our picks. It wont happen. I have seen him struggling a lot at Cornerback which is the position he is looking to play in the Pro's. Hes struggled at the Senior bowl and a few other little practices.

Being from RI, am a huge Blackmon fan, would like to see him in a Pats Uniform, not sure if he can start in the league as a DB, but the kid has tons of heart, great character and pretty good abilities.

Of course he struggled at the Sr Bowl. He hasn't played CB in a year and now he has to play against the best players in the country while every step he takes - even in practice - is being critiqued by the entire football world. I think the guy has the tools to at least play S, if not CB in the NFL. And he certainly has the required intangibles.

I thought Bam Childress was given the Troy Jr. title!

The problem is that he spent time at both WR and CB so he never got to perfect his technique in either position. He is very raw and regardless into he is made into a WR or a CB he will be a project.
