Assuming players can be moved tomorrow (or just pix).

    1) Conditional 2012 for Pierre Thomas (They have Bush, Ivory and Ingram). Kind of completes Thursday's trade.

    2) #33 to Cinncy for #35 and Chad Johnson (who dat?) and maybe a larger exchange.

    3) #33 to the Raiders for their 3rd 2011 and 1st 2012 (Mallett)

    OTOH ......

    4) Daydreaming in MA ......... #33 for Fitzgerald (throw in Tate and some chowda).

    5) Meriweather and Butler for A. Spencer and F. Jones

    Anybody else?????

I expect Washington or Miami to make a move for #33 and secure a QB, get ahead of Buffalo and Cincy.....payoff could be a 3rd now and a #1 in2012...or #2 now, #2 in 2012. Getting a #2 in the 42 -47 range still keeps the Pats drafting ahead of playoff teams......the ultimate goal...and adding picks

Players cannot be traded. So, 4 of your 5 trade scenarios don't work.

Actually, my understanding is that the rules for player movement come out tomorrow. I have to admit I heard that on WEEI  . In any case, I stated that "assuming players can be traded".

The rules come out tomorrow. They stated on NFLN that the league wasn't going to allow trades during the draft once the draft was underway. They also aren't going to start the league year or commence FA until Monday at the earliest. They also have an appeal of the injunction pending - including a request for an emergency stay. The appeals court could rule on that over the weekend.

"It's possible the NFL believes that the appeals court will rule on the lockout stay before Friday morning (which, if the ruling is favorable to the league, would make everything above moot). But it's also possible (very possible, in fact) that the appeal will be denied, meaning football really will resume Friday."

I understand that it's only a mild possibility. There are different reports in a lot of places. The thread's only for fun anyway.

There is almost no chance of the nfl announcing new transactions rules which will be effective before the end of this draft.

The Patriots will more than likely trade pick 33 for a King's Ransom.. and we'll love it.

I would not be surprised if it was for a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year.

My money is on the Bengals, Cardinals or 49ers with an outside shot at 41 from the Skins..

I don't see a trade with Al Davis because I think that the raiders are in a spot to continue their good play if they get a young QB and that would devalue the pick. I don't see Seahawks being an option because they are too far back... As for the Bills.. Bill might trade with them since he would be partially in control of their destiny, playing them twice a year..

My dream scenario is that he mugs the Bills to move up to 33 to keep the Bengals from leapfrogging them . . . then mugs the Bengals to keep someone from leapfrogging them . . . then mugs some other team for the last of those three. . . . :D

If he did that, I think it would be the last series of trades anyone in the league would make with him.. *LOL*

I wouldn't be suprised if we didn't get too much action on the 33rd pick with Dalton, Mallet and Kaepernick still on the board. There were a number of teams that were actively looking to trade down towards the end of the first round that couldn't find a partner. So I wouldn't expect to get a huge return for 33. A small trade down with Cinci would make sense, but the return for moving down three spots would be minimal. I think the end of the lockout has really hurt the value of 33 because teams now have a chance to get a veteran QB a lot sooner than expected. If a team is willing to give up a kings ransom for a rookie QB, why wouldn't they wait and go after Kolb. I still expect a trade down, but nothing major.

I expect something with the Cards, Bengals or Wash.

Something like 33 and 96 for whatever the pick is (35, 38 or 41) and a 2012 1st... One of those guys will get the BB annual hosing.

I just read on espn that BB already got some call for the 33 pick already.

Kolb is going to cost at least a 1st round pick, if not more.. And, in all honesty, there aren't a lot of good veteran QBs out there..

If teams at the end of the 1st round were expecting to get a 2nd rounder AND 2012 1st rounder, then I can understand if teams didn't trade up. The teams looked and saw that between them and the end of the first, no one was going to be taking a QB, so they could way. Then they saw what was there and figured they could get away by offering less. If they offer a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year, that is still less than a 2nd and 1st.

I'm not expecting a "King's Ransom" A 2nd and 3rd this year or a 2nd and 2nd next year.. would be great. If the Pats trade down, I'm sure it will be a deal they are happy with and that nets them the absolute most they could get.

    yes, yes........more draft picks......

maybe if they have enough draft picks, they can glue them all together, slap a 95 on it and put them out on the field......it'll get as many sacks as the OLB's the pats already have.

BTW, did anyone hear what the browns got from the falcons for the #6? two 1sts, a 2nd and 2 4ths.......I don't believe the pats ever had a serious conversation about that pick

Personally I love the way BB goes about the draft. He ensures that there is always flexibility in the greater scheme of things. People need to stop evaluating simple draft picks or accumulation of draft picks and realize that they are functions that fit into a total strategy for running a football team not just a 3 day picnic.
