The Pats Most Anticipated Game This Upcoming Season Is?

1A. DENVER - I think about this game and that playoff game every single day. I am going to be a nutcase in the stands that night. Denver is going to feel what it's like to play on the road in this series. Plummer will fear THE RAZOR! Remember to chant "IN-COM-PLETE" every time Denver misses a pass play (in case you're wondering, that's what they chant at Invesco).

1B. PITTSBURGH* - anybody else here think the Steeler's SB title has gone to their collective heads? Ward, Porter, who do they think they are? If we could get them at Gillette in the playoffs that would be one HELL of a battle and we would dethrone the champs on the way to our 4th SB title. I'm still bitter they didn't play us but that was our choosing.

2. INDIANAPOLIS - I say every time we score we go for 2. Seriously, why go for 2 when you're up 19? Manning, what a prick.

3. at Miami - we could lock up the East w/ this game, plus I'll be going so extra anticipation there.

4. at Cincinnati - good test for our secondary, should give us an idea of what's to come against Indy

5. at Green Bay- I just want us to kick Brett Favre's ass one time, really, really bad.

6. at Tennessee - could be a junk game, but David Givens probably will realize that he made the wrong choice when Chad Jackson is burning the Titans' secondary and we're heading to the playoffs AGAIN.

7. at NY Jets - am I the only one who is bitter at Mangini for our non-existent D for half of '05?

Colts Colts Colts Thats It Baby Bring On Adam So We Can Block That Crap All Day !!!!!!!

Colts and Denver, for obvious reasons. I'll be in Europe for the Colts game, but I've already checked- my hotel has ESPN, so I'm all set!

The games at Jax and TN, because I'll be at those. . .

I don't understand how anyone can consider a regular season win in the year following a playoff loss payback. I don't understand it when the colts trolls come in here and say it and I won't understand it from Pats fans. Beating Denver will be nice but so won't beating the other 12 teams on the schedule. Revenge would be beating that same team in the playoffs again the following year, not week 3.

With that said, the Jaguars game because I bought season tickets to the Jags to ensure that I had 5 tickets to see the Pats play them. I take the family on a road trip every year and the past two years were in Cleveland and Buffalo needless to say I wanted to go some place warmer this year. So we will spend Christmas in Florida.

That Colts game is on NBC unless they televise that on ESPN in Europe.

Clearly Miami...

Everytime they get lucky enough to beat us they act like they get one of our Superbowl trophies.

In-season rematches are more appropriate for "revenge" or "payback". You're exactly right, how will we have avenged that loss by winning in Week 3?

The more appropriate word is "redemption". We have to redeem ourselves for what happened in the playoffs, against the team that was there to witness our meltdown. More importantly, we have to redeem ourselves for our ugly history against the Broncos.

You should hear Denver fans...

Bragging about being 4-1 against Brady and emphasizing the one loss was with Danny Kanell. Bragging about ending the Pats' dynasty and being better than the Pats every time we won the Super Bowl.

I know a guy that goes so far to say the Broncos would have come into Foxboro in 03/04 and whipped the Pats based purely on last year's playoff game IN DENVER.

In summation, they think they "own" us - they really don't "own" a clue.

Stop being so articulate! :D

Yes, redemption is a better word. But either way last year is last year and we have to move on. It would only serve to make a victory over the Broncos in the Playoffs a bit more satisfying.

You're right, but it's just semantics. The fact is the loss in the playoffs to them last year makes this year's regular season game against them more meaningful. Redemption, revenge, retaliation.. wha'eva- let's just make them pay.

I agree, redemption is a better way of describing it, but this upcoming came is not just redemption for the playoff loss. Denver has been the only team able to consistently beat us throughout our dynasty, so there is a lot for the Pats to prove/make up for in this game.

It's got nothing to do with the playoff loss. Saying you're going to get revenge in the regular season for a playoff game is, as one poster pointed out, lame and Colt-fan-like.

The Denver game is the second most anticipated regular season game because more than any other team in the NFL, they can claim they have the Pats number. That pisses me off.

The first most anticipated game? The opener of course! The return of football season!!

The Broncos game. The fans aggrivate me the most. Some of the players aggrivate me too. Not only do I want a nice 20 point win but also running the ball up their ass all night long.

Second is the Colts game. Now I sort of see the Colts as a joke, we are rivals? We have beaten the crap out of them for the last 10 years, and the fans ofcourse, stupid Dolts fans wont give you a break when we lost, much like the Broncos. All I really want is for Peyton Manning to look incredibly dumbstruck once again in Foxboro.

Jake Plummer really annoys me. Perhaps it's because he gives the finger to the fans, that 70's porn star mustache he used to have, or that he manages to throw interceptions with his non throwing arm.

Indy!
Rodney breaks through the line to laser in on AV for a blocked FG to ice the game in the 4th!
...or something like that...

The Broncos definitely can't beat the Pats in January at home in the snow.In fact no team can beat the Pats at home in January IMO.The Bronco game would've been a different outcome if it had been played here in New England.Homefield plays a huge part in most of these games.Sadly for the Colts they''ll have to travel to Denver [which will probably be a loss] then come here the following week. This could be to back to back losses for the Colts.

In a masochistic kind of way, I keep on watching the tape from that January night. Bailey running down the sidelines. The flag flying out at Asante. Belichick frustrated after Troy's fumble. Brady hanging his head on the sidelines. BusterTBronco, and the other Bronco trolls. Mile High.

I want a beat down. Shut them up. Close the door. Lock it. Throw away the key. Never think about the way 2005 ended again.

i agree too with you

I'm looking forward to the Indy rematch a little more than Denver for the following reasons:

1. there was a 2 month build up for the 05 colts game -- the hype got bigger on a weekly basis until -- for better or worse -- it was billed as the game of the decade (the symbolic end of the Pats "run" and the "coronation" of Indy).

2. that week our injury report was 10x longer than theirs.

3. they did it in our house.

4. If he's honest, Bill would probably count that as the most humiliating defensive effort in his career.

5. I won't blame Indy for running up the score, but as a fan, I'm not going to pretend I was happy about it either. I suppose if I were in their shoes and had been humiliated by the Pats for the past 7 or 8 games I'd tack on as many points as possible too...but did it piss me off anyway?, hell yeah -- we can't possibly win this next game by a wide enough margin IMO.

6. after that loss, 100% of the pundits wrote off the Pats and the dynasty for good -- if they hadn't already.

The playoff loss stung for obvious reasons, but just personally, the 4 key turnovers actually made it more palatable than if we'd lost solely due to officiating (which I'll still never get over).

As a team, I respect Denver -- they play as physical as any team in the league, they play in the toughest division in football, they have passionate football fans, and like the Pats they have lots of classy vets who know how to carry themselves when they're having success (see: Colts players constantly talking about running the table).

Denver players always say the right things going into a game against the Pats -- no team shows us more respect IMO -- it's often so over the top that it reminds me of how our guys talk about opponents.

Having said that, I can't wait to kick their ass too...I've circled both games on my calendar.

Would it be sweeter to knock either team out in January? -- of course -- but let's not pretend those two games are just normal regular season games on the level of Minnesota or Detroit as they clearly are not -- regardless of whatever cliches the players and coaches hide behind in public.

One thing that does concern me is the possibility of overlooking some other games leading into the marquee events like Denver and Indy -- particularly divisional games...but overall I'd say last year brought a new level of focus and energy to a team that after 2-straight titles had to be wondering if they were invincible (they are human after all). We got the one game behind us when everything went against us -- it was bound to happen -- I'm no longer waiting for that shoe to drop. Do I wish it was a 3-game series instead of a one-off event?, yeah -- but I'm not so sure I'd want to go back to our other playoff opponents over the past 4 seasons and play a 3-game series either.

As a fan, I'm going in there this season with the atitude that I'm going to do as much as I can to make it as loud for Denver in September as their fans were for us in January -- that's the only way playing at the Razor will be an advantage for us -- HFA isn't just some mystical thing, it takes serious EFFORT on our part.

As for Manning, I sincerely hope we can make a little more noise than we did in '05 -- that was pathetic.

Too bad the Broncos came into your house and KICKED YOUR BUTTS (again!)

The New England Patriots are simply an inferior football team. Face it, you just can't hang with the Denver Broncos!
