We're gonna have to self-scout hard. You could see it in Belichick's face afterwards that he knew McCarthy got the best of his staff.
Also, I wish McDaniels would stop running on 3rd and short in the first against teams who either play with good gap integrity or aren't overly susceptible to the run. The Pats thought they could out-talent GB and were proven wrong. If there is a rematch, we're gonna have to scheme our butts off.
I have no doubt that they will do just this during the week.
You brought up something interesting I was thinking about earlier. The Patriots pride themselves on tailoring their offensive game plan to attack the perceived weakness of the opponent. However, when said perceived weakness is actually a non-factor, like the Packers 30th-ranked run defense tonight, sometimes it seems like the offense goes through a rough stretch where they struggle to find the right adjustments or mix of plays.
That being said, perhaps the Patriots were not as diligent as they intended to be with the commitment to the running game after falling behind early?
It will be interesting if some of the more experienced posters here who know X's and O's can offer more insight after reviewing the all-22.
