Good thing it was also against a NFC opponent loss doesn't affect the AFC standings

Division or not the pats have to finish with a better record than the Broncos. If the Bronocs lose tonight this loss won't mean much. If the Broncos win it has a big effect.

I think BB and his staff didn't put enough effort on this game during the Thanksgiving week. Shame on them. Now they must win all the remaining games.

They were too busy destroying Don Jones dreams of playing for a SB.

I kind of agree. These elite QBs are way too good to let them sit back there forever.

yes. even the Jets game is a must. IMO.

Pats absolutely do not have to finish with a better record than the Broncos. If they have the same record at the end Pats hold the tie breaker.

defense couldn't get off the field at crucial teams, story of the pats the last couple of years. there's also 0 pass rush.

we have to get the number 1 seed. not a chance we win on the road come january....next week is huge against a good charger team with a great QB.

This game shows that this pats team has no business to win a payoff game on the road. If they cannot secure HFA, no way they get to the SB.

Or it means that they can lay an egg on the road against the best the NFC has to offer and still have a chance to win at the end.

Seems silly to draw conclusions either way.

All well and good except they didn't hit the FG. So, offense didn't get close enough and ST wasn't as great as they have been, which was the content of my original post.

The offense was as productive - per drive - as they have been all season. But don't let that fact ruin your opinion.

1. Big plays hurt us (especially the one to Nelson before the half)
2. Rodgers is the real deal. I would take him over forehead and Luck any day of the week.
3. The defense couldn't get off the field which allowed Green Bay to control the clock. The offense had limited opportunities to score.
4. Tough to rattle Rodgers when there is no pass rush

Even though the Pats made some mistakes they still had a chance to win. I am not that upset about losing to a very good team in their house. On to San Diego.

The worst thing about this game is that my mother in law is here and keeps asking me things like "Did your team win?" "What's the final score?" "Did the team play well?" "Is this their first lost?" "Is the season over?"

Arghhhhghfhggghghhghgghg

Rivers is not a great QB. But, Patriots need to show that they can win on the road.

Damn, I feel like the Packers schemed against some over our tendencies on both sides of the ball.

At least defense settled down in second half yielding only a FG. Lot of teachable moments for BB. Use this game to get better down the stretch

Actually, how many punts did Packers had all game? 1? 2?

Just gotta keep chugging along

They were not as productive as your own post proved. You can't count points they didn't get.

This is the lowest point total for the offense since week 4. Think what you like, but the offense struggled. It was obvious just from an eye test.

Cherry pick stats you think are important if you like, but Belichick himself would tell you the score is the only stat that matters.

And with that, I'm done with this conversation, we are clearly at an impasse.

This loss adds urgency, and I feel the Pats are smart enough to realize this. Belichick was out coached, hopefully that doesn't happen again the rest of the year.

Certainly not one of the better games by either side of the ball but they made a few plays. I thought the defense settled down nicely, even with that crusher at the end of the first half.

On the glass half full side...they did hang in there against a white hot Packers team at home and if they had to lose it's much better to do it tonight than next week against an AFC team. Hopefully any tendencies exploited by Rodgers and the Packers tonight get fixed this week.

OK. Since you are refusing to budge from obviously being wrong, I will be as literal as possible.

They came in averaging 2.7 points per drive. They scored 2.63 points per drive.

So, allow me to correct my post: The Patriots offense was .07 points per drive less effective than they have been all season.

Sorry, I guess you're right. They really tremendously sucked .07 points per drive more than they have all year.

better win out or kiss the 1 seed goodbye.

with that being said, go chiefs but it's hard to watch alex smith. lol
