Perfect Season, #1 Seed, Win Superbowl Over 49'rs

:rocker:

Last year I did pretty well, getting the record right and three of the four losses correct. Considering that I also picked KC to win the AFCW last year and the Rams to win the NFCW the year before that, I have a feeling that I'm going to slide back to the norm this year.

I've been on the fence at 11-5/12-4, but right now I'm slightly leaning with the better record. Going 1-2 rather than 2-1 in weeks 3-5 would change that.

I was tempted to include Tampa Bay as bit of a letdown game after beating the Jets, with Atlanta and Cincinnati coming up after that. I think the Falcons defense is suspect; that game and the next two could go either way. Those three games and then the Jets; that leads to the annual WTF letdown game, this year against Miami.

Similarly the Pats will expend themselves against the Broncos, leading to a little bit of letdown the next week; meanwhile for Houston that is their Super Bowl. If on the other hand Denver wins (it doesn't help that the Patriots are coming off a short week, playing on the road on Monday night), then the Pats respond with a victory against the Texans.

13 - 3

We get by whoever makes the playoffs in the AFC, and we win by 3 in the SB :rocker:

I never feel I'm smart enough to predict this game by game when there are so many moving parts to an NFL schedule, but I was on the number last year and am usually not off by more than a game.

I'm saying 11--5.

Five non-division opponents were in the playoffs last year (ATL, BAL, CIN, DEN and HOU) and another three are on a lot of lists to make the playoffs this year (NO, PIT, TAM). No division losses last year and only one in the last three years, so the odds are due to catch up to them for a loss or two in the unpredictable world of division games where anything can happen. Beyond that, "stuff happens."

After watching Welker (muff aside) run his precision routes on Thursday and thinking about the loss of Hernandez, my gut wonders if 10--6 might not be right, but I can't bring myself to make that prediction of a team with a prime Tom Brady at QB.

11--5.

12-4

They'll win the division, but won't go far in the playoffs. I don't trust the O-line against top flight playoff caliber D-lines. Its been a major problem for the last five plus years. Also the WR corp is raw and untested. As far as the defense goes i think the front seven will be better(generating a improved pass rush) but per usual the defensive back field could be a liability especially if there are injuries.

Should easily go no worse than 14-2 this season!

Good Luck:rocker:[/QUOTE]

Well none of us got a perfect score but some of us predicted the 12-4 record.
so
th_applause.gif
to those who predicted the 12-4 record:rocker:

And these predictions were based on a relatively healthy Pats team.

Well my Blount sets the franchise single season all purpose yards prediction was spot on. Can't believe nobody else predicted that

Link to original post with some predictions that look ridiculous now - other than the SB winner :)

- Pats go 12-4 (throws shoulder out patting self on back)

- Even got the opponent correct on two of the four losses (though only 1 for 4 on specific games).

- IIRC, not as good as last year on division winners (4 of 8) and playoff teams (6 of 12). Would have been much better had Chicago and Dallas won Sunday.

- Had my one annual prediction of a division winner that was laughably way off (Houston). :ugh:

- Was also way off by disagreeing with a few folks here that said before the season began that KC would make the playoffs, by not even considering that possibility.

- On the other side of the coin, was correct in going against the mainstream in regards to several teams that I was confident would not make the playoffs (i.e., Falcons, Redskins, Giants, Vikings).

- Thanks to PATSNUTme for putting this together and retrieving it, it's always fun to laugh at ourselves. :clap2:
