I don't mean for this to be in any way disrespectful of the spirit of the contest. This obviously isn't what I think will or (God knows) should happen, but it is my best effort at finding a system to predict the highest number of the Patriots' picks. I took the first seven TEs from the list of those the Patriots have had contact with, and then added five players at positions of need that I like that I figure have a chance to go in the 2nd round. My logic is 1) We will draft at least two TEs and possibly more. 2) Since we have 3 2nd round picks it makes sense to try and cluster predictions there rather than try to nail our lone first rounder.
12 is a big number. We could very well see someone get 3 this year.

It is totally within the rules of the contest, but speaking from experience the cool part of this is going back to see what you were thinking months and years later. Things like predicting a guy the Pats will draft relatively early but ends up going undrafted and playing in Canada (not saying that has ever happened to me. it was a friend of mine.)
Ah, the "maximize future humility" approach, nice.
I think a lot of us take a middle path, listing maybe 3 top candidates at a couple of key positions, then filling in with specific players we have a good feeling about at other positions.
Of course, so far NO approach has worked, so the TE extravaganza is as good an idea as any. Though last year that approach would have led you to list seven OLBs...
I started this one as a joke (my "real" entry is one page one), but now that I look at it, I would probably be more happy with this draft than the actual draft......

Covers all the needs, pass rusher, WR, ILB, OG, too bad there wasn't a punter named Brandon...
to team up with Tate and Merriweather.
Will keep my guess in 2 first rounds where we have 4 picks so I have better chances.
