Has Belichick ever used a pick in the supplemental draft?
Who was that linebacker people were talking about in last year's supplimental that the Pats were interested in? Who took him and did he play well?
The Patriots were never interested in Ahmad Brooks. He went to the Bengals (of course he would, he has a history of poor behavior.) I haven't hear anything about him since, so I guess he can't have made that big an impact in his rookie year.
I thought Brooks would be a good fit because of his size/speed and experience in a 3-4 defense. Al Groh must have tipped off BB about his character.
I will continue to watch Brooks, he would be the best young (under 30) LB on the roster with flexibility to play multiple positions (SILB, WILB) and maybe even outside if necessary.
From Peter King http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/peter_king/10/16/mmqb/5.html
"e. Ahmad Brooks, 11 tackles. Rangy and fierce. If Brooks keeps his nose clean for Cincinnati, Marvin Lewis might have added the sideline-to-sideline linebacker he lost when Odell Thurman imploded. "
A reallybig "if" given his past history. But maybe the light will go on.
Can't see the Pats bidding more than a 4th for Oliver.

Paul Oliver CB is a top two or three next year amongst top cbs top five if you consider in juniors.
Both could have been first rounders this year. so you are gonna need a little more then a fourth to get one

NOTE: The Ravens are scheduled to attend University of Nebraska offensive tackle Chris Patrick’s campus workout today. A 6-foot-4, 300-pounder who reportedly has 5.1 speed in the 40-yard dash and projects to guard, Patrick’s application for the supplemental draft was recently approved by the league office.
Other teams expected to attend the workout include: the New York Giants, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins.
. Gaithers could be the next Tony Hollings for all we know. Yeah the Texans look real smart wasting their 2nd rounder on him now. Where is he again? .
