Still no Collins? [Update: Over the Bug, But Needs to Regain Strength]

I'm not sure why you assume he started his recovery process only yesterday. We just heard about it yesterday because the team was back in practice and Rap got his report from team personnel. But nowhere did it say he was just starting to get over it. I was hoping he may have recovered a few days ago, and has been eating his way back to par weight for a few days now.

FWIW, I interpreted all the reports as indicating Collins was out this week as well.

Yes, it sucks that he's been out both for the team and his own well being, but some folks are acting like he's got flesh eating bacteria, or should be in one of those "For just 39 cents a day.." commercials.

Rumor is Wilfork and Vrabel came down with it Friday night.

This is good news.

Though I honestly would not be upset if he was held out even for the Denver game. This past Sunday, we played the best offense we will play for the rest of the regular season (top 5 in scoring) on the road, without Collins and with an injured Coleman. The defense still played well for the most part, especially in clutch situations.

I didn't say that. But holding with Giants to below their PPG average this season on the road despite Coleman's injury and having Melvin out there, bodes well for the rest of the regular season. We won't be facing an offense that talented the rest of the way.

Pathetic that BUF is the best offense that they will face the rest of the year.

With that said Coleman has been on the field for 75% of the teams defensive snaps the last 3 games. Hes in all their nickel and dime packages and is their 2nd best man cover guy. Will they survive? Sure. Is their sub D and man cover D worse with him out? Absolutely.

Based on the reports, it doesn't seem like a serious injury and he should be back well before the season ends.

We don't know what his injury is. What we do know is that he is wearing a cast and did not play in the 2nd 1/2 vs NYG and most likely will not play vs BUF which scores 25ppg and scored 32 on NE the last time.

I think an extended length of time he is out is a concern.
