NFL Films president Steve Sabol has been diagnosed with a primary tumor on the left side of his brain, a Films spokesperson said in a statement released Friday.

Sabol, 68, was hospitalized after suffering a seizure nearly two weeks ago in Kansas City. Extensive tests afterward led to the diagnosis.

NFL.com news: NFL Films' Steve Sabol to begin treatment for brain tumor

My best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.

Oh, that's too bad.

A common course with brain tumors is treatment, some months of pretty normal life, and then a final decline. (Ted Kennedy matched that pattern, actually.) I hope Sabol does better than that.

one of the main pipe lines of the nfl... a true hero as a nfl fan growin up... best wishes to him....

I pray his is like my brother's and can be removed safely ... my brother completed one tour in Afghanistan as a senior medical officer and is scheduled for another deployment this year.

Praying for a healthy and speedy recovery for Steve.

he's provided all of us with hours and hours of entertainment.

Odd. Primary tumors originating in the brain are pretty rare. Best wishes to him.

This ..............and................... get well Steve.

That sucks.

I remember when I saw the headline I assumed it was his dad, Ed, who was ill, since he's much older.

God Bless him and his family and help them through this.

Get well, and a safe recovery!

The greatest spokesman for the sport of American football, bar none.

All best thoughts go out to Steve Sabol.

Get well man.

I love Sabol's work and am hoping for a speedy and full recovery for him.

Doesn't sound good, unfortunately. If the initial treatment is chemo and radiation, that likely means that it is an inoperable tumor. That may be due to the type of tumor, location (near large vessels or brain stem) or large size. If they are using chemo/XRT to shrink the tumor before attempting surgery, that may be the best case scenario.

Best of luck Steve. Keep fighting.

Steve Sabol is one of my football heroes.

Hope he gets well soon.
