What LIE do you speak of?
There ARE ways to get across the street ALREADY, the only time it's REALLY an issue is when Kraft holds LARGE functions at his MegaMoneyMaker.

You mean THAT Lie?

His megamoneymaker and potential future megamoneymaker that also generate mega ongoing and growing tax revenue for the town and state and federal government is what you refuse to grasp. Repair a road the way they do in this state and that money generates limited construction employment for a season. After which we promptly set about ruining that road which was probably poorly and wastefully improved while creating no ongoing or increasing economic growth.

Honestly, this isn't rocket or conspiracy science... I find it difficult to believe some of you are as dense as you portray yourselves to be so the alternative has to be your opposition to this must be agenda driven.

The lie that you propogate that this will benefit only 20X per year when it has been repeatedly reported in the press and noted here that a ONE MILLION SQUARE FOOT biotech complex that will house many thousands of workers is planned for the across the street area. There is ALREADY 1.5 million square feet of buildings on the stadium side of the street. Please, think.

If there "already are ways to cross that street" as you write, then there are already ways to drive over the crappy streets in your hometown too. THIS one, however, could help bring many millions of dollars of revenue to the state over the next several decades. In short, it will pay back much more than it costs. Your street simply won't.

I have to think that Mo may be right about what your angle is here.

This project will not be funded by stimulus money, and instead the state will find other ways to fund it:

Patriots footbridge taken off stimulus list - Local News Updates - The Boston Globe

The bridge, and two other previously approved projects, were removed from the stimulus list because officials worry they will not proceed quickly enough to meet "shovel-ready" deadlines set by the federal government.

If only the bull@#$% shoveled on this issue contributed to economic activity. We'd have a boom.
