What the heck? Did John Henry catch Salty banging his Girlfriend?

I guess they didn't want to give him a three year deal. that's what it said in the article anyway.

3 years was way too much for Salty. We have catchers that are almost ready for the bigs, so i like this deal. Plus i think AJ is a better catcher both offensive and defensive that salty. We will see how it plays out but im not mad at this deal

He played his part but I'd had enough of Saltalamacchia by the end of the season. He's not reliable behind the plate nor in the box. It was time to move on.

Outside of Ellsbury leaving, I'm pretty happy with the Red Sox moves. They've brought in a veteran catcher who coupled with Ross, will be a wonderful platform for the farm talent and they've also added some more quality arms to the Pen. Now, if they can add a reasonably priced bat or two (after hopefully re-signing Nap), then this team is looking in good shape.

Does Napoli fall under this thread? :)

Done deal with a hometown discount!
In regards to catching, I like a catcher who can throw to second and occasionally to third.

I hated AJ before he signed here, and I hate him now more than ever.
I really, really hope he's gone by August 1st.

Well glad you are getting your wish my friend!
