Is it just the way he plays? Bad luck? Not pliable?

Or if you get lots of injuries are you just more likely to get more?

He always seems to find a way to land on his side so his head and shoulder is constantly slamming into the ground.

Doesn't take his vitamins.

Some people are just more prone to injury via lack of natural durability and some ****ty habits with taking hits.

Jimmy has shown both his entire career. He's just not a very sturdy. All things considered, we probably dodged a bullet. Not being able to rely on your QB to make it through a season is a nightmare of purgatory. We'd have been at war reconciling him playing well when he was healthy vs him blowing the season

Too bad. I liked Jimmy. First time I saw him in the East West game, he had such a quick release and threw a nice sideline long ball. I was glad we got him.

I think it's always usually a combination of things with guys (except for the ones who have some obvious major injury that just keeps flaring up).

Jimmy is a smart QB, but always seems to be a half second behind on a lot of throws. Like he's waiting for the perfect window to open, and so takes an extra hit that he probably could have afforded. On top of that, he seems to land awkwardly, partly because he's waiting until the last second so he doesn't have time to brace himself properly, but also because he probably doesn't know how to fall correctly.

Compound that with that fact that he is NOT an elite QB, which means when he does get dinged up, his effectiveness drops from Good Game Manager to Guy Who Can't Really Do Anything. Compare that to someone like Brady, who goes from GOAT to a guy who's still going to win you the game more often than not, or Mahomes who goes best in the league to top 5 when he's got a minor injury. So there's no real incentive to keep Jimmy in the lineup when he's hurt, so he missed more time than another guy who might still play through it.

I did too. But he has a huge negative that we didn't really see much of or account for during his time here

A lot of times, it's simply genetics. It is certainly possible to train yourself and grow in strength above the capabilities of your body to endure actual use of those muscles. Everyone has different stages where they will push to a limit and the body begins to give in the areas where there's simply not enough strength, elasticity, stamina, or whatever.

I found my limits lol....college hockey was the height of my athletic ability and going Airborne was the height of my Army physical journey. My attempts to push beyond in both categories got me torn M/ACLs, labrums, etc. Is it possible to find a way to push beyond? Maybe...I never really tried, honestly.

But I see a guy like Jimmy G and I kinda feel for him.

Blame the porn stars. Too drained come game time.

Lets see here ... GQ's injury history
2016 - Shoulder joint/ac sprain (2 games, Back to being Bradys back up after ballghazi punishment over)
09/18 - ACL shredded (week 3 injury, out for season)
09/20 - High ankle sprain (missed 2 games)
11/20 - High ankle sprain (week 8, missed rest of season)
10/21 - Calf injury (missed 1 game)
12/21 - Broken thumb/torn Ulnar collateral ligament(week 16, missed 1 game unk)
01/22 - Shoulder separation/sprain
12/22 - Broken foot, missed 5 r.s. & 4 p.o. games
09/23 - Concussion - missed 1 game

seems to get his joints tore up quite a bit... surprisingly, this year was the first time hes missed a game to a concussion... 9 major injuries, requiring missed games ... 10 year career, so a little less than 1 major injury per year... I'm sure there are reasons why some get injured more than others... repetitive motion injuries, big hits etc etc... guess his body just doesn't respond well to the violence inherent in football

Yeah his legs have been taking a beating. I would have thought he would have worked with Brady or the TB12 center on taking hits from a defense... that's amazing a high ankle sprain would KO him for the season.

High ankle sprains can be a ***** to heal... and if you look at the dates, it looks like it (most likely) the first high ankle sprain never fully healed, and the original injury was exacerbated...

Looked it up... it was a new injury not an aggravation of his original one...probably his other ankle unless he sprained a different location on the original one. Surgery ended his season. That's brutal....

Nice to see him diversifying his injury portfolio. Never put all your injuries in one basket.

One of Tom Brady's greatest skills was understanding how to get tackled, how to hit the ground in a good way. I'm sure some of that he worked on, some of it was probably a bit of luck too.

Jimmy has the opposite of that skill.

Bad luck + the position he plays. The "injury prone" tag is difficult to pin on a player unless it's the same type of injury recurring multiple times. Take out the two fractures and it probably doesn't seem like so many serious injuries through 10 seasons.
