Given my response, if anything it would point to me working for DirecTV rather than a cable company.

That could be the case.

Or it might be the case that 10x as many people will purchase individual games than they would the pricey $250 it cost to get the ticket.

Businesses are constantly changing their distribution models and pricing e.g., Blockbuster used to exist, ridesharing didn't, phones once had cords on them, etc.

Probably the unfortunate part is the NFL has a monopoly on NFL football and the licensing deals exist. I would guess that if they let a bunch of players (e.g., Comcast, Netflix, Amazon, google, etc.) distribute football there would be a bunch of different ways to buy football.

IMO. Armchair speculation on my part.

By no means am I inferring that things can't or won't change in the future.

For right now though, the other organizations would need to come up with more than $1,500,000,000 per year to the NFL to give them a reason to change.

The current contract runs through 2022, so it's going to be a while before we possibly see any changes.

Contrary to what the cable/iptv providers want you to think, those still work! And in same or higher quality than cable/iptv!

I got 14 out of 16 regular season games this season. Best ever for me! I usually get 8 to 12 pats games only.

I live in Stamford, CT (35 minutes outside of Manhattan) and will be getting the game on CBS2 via Optimum (Cablevision). CBS1 will be airing Jets @ Bills.

I live in Trumbull and have the same thing. I get both Crap York and New Haven channels!

I used to love DirecTV! Then they changed to a much higher encryption on their cards/signal. After that I just felt their service didn't fit my needs anymore

According to my directory (DirecTV) my early game is Pats vs. Fins. Next up for me is Den. vs. SD.
Here in NV I get KUTV out of Utah.

In fairness the Jets vs Bills and the Jacksonville vs Houston games are the only two games with a direct playoff implication. And with the Ryan angle as well as opponent's records being better in this game, there is an argument that this is the game to broadcast to areas without a connection to any other teams playing.
