I'll get this thread going and invite others to jump in.

First, a couple of big plays given up by the Pats' D.

1st quarter, 13:17 to go, Phins have the ball 3rd and 3. The Pats with 3 safeties -- Chung, Meriweather, Sanders. Hartline motions across the formation from the left slot, and Chung follows him like he's in man, but nobody takes Fasano, who releases into the hole and gets hit by Henne for a 20-yard pickup. The Pats apparently had Chung as the NB and Sanders and Meriweather playing a 2-(very)-deep shell -- but why, on 3rd and short?

1st quarter, 9:48 left, Phins have it 1st and 10. Marshall motions out of the backfield and runs a gorgeous pick on Kyle Arrington to free up Davone Bess. Henne hits him for 21 yards.

Finally, the Phins' first touchdown, which was also yet another (*sigh*) 3rd and long conversion.

1st quarter, 5:58, 3rd and 8, Phins on the Patriot 19. Looks like a passing situation and indeed it is. Pats rush 4, get no pressure, though in fairness the Dolphins run 7-man protection. Mayo keys on #23 Brown -- when he sees Brown staying in to protect, he rushes the QB, but it's too late. Davone Bess fools Pat Chung with that fake inside, and Henne completes the pass for the TD. Chung seeing plenty of action as the NB.

3rd quarter, 14:06, Phins with the ball, 3rd and a long 8. This time the Pats deploy a 4 man front, but Wilhite is in as the NB, replacing Chung, who slides back to SS. Henne completes to Marshall, but Wilhite is right there to make the tackle short of the first down. This stop completed a solid 3 and out performance by the Pats' D.

Ironically, this is 1 thread that won't have any Randy Moss mentions. ;)

Is this thread as serious as the Moss threads are?

3rd quarter, 11:50, Phins 3rd and 1. Pats with the base 34, Chung at SS, Wright at 0-tech. Phins C and 2 guards drive Wright, Mayo and Spikes -- effectively trading 3 Pats for 3 Phins leaving room for Ricky Williams to shoot through for an 11-yard gain, and a stop by Pat Chung. Don't see how the two-gap can work unless the 0-tech can occupy the C and one guard, which Wright didn't on that play.
