***Ray Rice---The Whole Video*** [Update: Ravens release Rice]

heh heh....I'll bet his brains are rap tap tappin' like a paranoid squirrel..

One thing, BTW, that could get the NFL owners' attention is if Congress starts raising a squawk about the NFL's antitrust exemption.

The last time there were serious rumblings about that was in 2007 over the Week 17 Pats game, and it worked.

If Goodell attempts to whitewash and it happens now? He's toast.

This is so much more than an football issue, there are a lot of people that should lose their jobs or be punished severely for trying to cover up what Rice did. But selfishly, I want to see Mr. High Morals and Integrity go down the hardest. Trying to pass off that he and his office, some of the most powerful people in sports, couldn't get their hands on a piece of video tape that others had, is such a load and just reinforces what many people having been saying about Goodell for years: he's an incompetent fool and total fraud.

Post MNF game immediately on ESPN...a nuclear bomb set off by Mort...WOW...here we go...

Can you post what was said? I'm in Canada, so once MNF ends, I don't get the post-game show.

It's on live right now...I'll see when it's done if there's a transcript...amazing stuff

Sage Rosenfels with a nice write up.
I often say the exact same thing, albeit not as well written, and some people come at me with the most hateful slurs one can imagine.

Setting aside the current controversy, Goodell is doing a great job, but you have to keep in mind what his job is: Making money for billionaires and being the front man for unpopular decisions. That way when the NFL expands the playoffs or Thursday night games, ignorant morons can attack Goodell instead of the real power holders like Bob Kraft, Jerry Jones or Dan Snyder.

Bravo Keith Olbermann!
What was your favorite part? The part where he calls us all "accessories after the fact" to domestic violence unless we boycott the Ravens?

Yeah that makes sense. Us watching football this Thursday night makes us all accessories to domestic violence. Great perspective there, Keith.

Bravo Keith Olbermann!

Listen, I think Ray Rice is a piece of garbage myself, but I'm sorry, when the video came out months ago of Rice dragging the unconscious body of his fiancee out of an elevator, and when the NFL came down on the light punishment, that's when all of this outrage should have happened. I think K.O, and everyone else screaming for people to step down are just trying to pile on this garbage, and to up their profile.

The video that came out yesterday was disgusting and disturbing, but did we really need to see that video to judge what Rice did? Before yesterday, what do we think happened inside that elevator? We couldn't have all been naive to think there was friendly contact going on, and that's how the women got KO. Rice is a POS, the NFL and the Baltimore Ravens clearly tried to cover this all up. I knew this all before yesterday.

Lastly and understandably there are things in life much bigger than the NFL and football, but pushing personal or political agendas aren't one of them. So please spare me the whole let's boycott the NFL because of this mess Olberman.

This stuff reminds me of what Mark Cuban said about the NFL and "Pigs at the trough". These types of incidents can do severe damage to the league if there was a cover up. When an organization thinks they're beyond reproach, it only takes a few of these and things will get ugly fast.

I'm not saying the NFL is going to collapse but concussions, this, etc, do major damage to the brand and the public perception of the league and its ability to grow the business.

Ray Rice Video -- NFL Commish in the Dark ... By Choice? | TMZ.com

The NFL NEVER contacted the casino to request video of Ray Rice brutalizing his fiancee ... TMZ Sports has learned. Commissioner Rodger Goodell made his disciplinary decision in the dark, which raises the question ... Is that the way he wanted it?

Sources connected with the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City tell TMZ Sports ... NO ONE from the NFL ever asked for the video inside the elevator ... video that was compelling enough to get Rice instantly fired.

Sources who worked at the casino at the time of the incident tell us ... if the NFL had asked for the video, they would have gladly complied.

Multiple sources tell TMZ Sports ... the casino made a copy of the elevator surveillance video for police. We're also told Rice's lawyer had a copy of the video, which he got in the criminal case.

Janay Rice breaks her silence, describes situation as 'horrible nightmare' - baltimoresun.com

Janay is upset at .. the media and the public:

"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," Janay Rice wrote. "But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret every day is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass of for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific.

"THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"

I listened to Baltimore local sports talk on the way to work this morning and they absolutely skewered the Ravens organization. From their lack of thorough investigation, to the way they hung Harbaugh out to dry yesterday. They felt that Ozzie and Bisciotti should have been with Harbaugh facing the media especially since Harbaugh does not deal with personnel decisions.

It was entertaining at the very least to hear. And even better when on occasion idiot fans called in to, in their own twisted way, speak against cutting Ray Rice.

Yes, I'm quite sure she's forgiven him but why should he have different rules than the rest of us? If I did this and my work found out, I would be out of a job too. What I've worked for would be taken away too. I sympathize with her situation but I do not accept that he should be let off the hook because she sees this as an unfortunate circumstance and nothing more.

This is sad, but she has blame for all the wrong people. Had this been handled properly from the beginning, the public wouldn't really be involved. There would have been no reason to release the video, no reason for outrage, no pain, no embarrassment (beyond the initial situation). Goodell and the Ravens organization are entirely to blame for all of this.

Now, as for the claim by the NFL that they just couldn't seem to find the video despite there being three sources who all had a copy, all I can say is if they had wanted it, they have enough money to buy the hotel, Rice's lawyer and all of TMZ. These excuses and lies aren't going to cut it.
